Robby I'm sure all of us have made errors in our lives but it all depends what those errors are If money is involved that doesn't belong to me then shoot me now but I just couldn't take it that doesn't mean to say that I haven't made mistakes but where money's concerned no!
Shell
I am amazed at some of the replies on here. I would say absolutely and totally tell the truth on this one, tell the tour operator...its not the odd fiver we are talking here, its thousands. I certainly could not live with that on my conscience and it IS a criminal offence.
You probably all think I'm a top gangsta now, but I'm just a normal working Mum with responsibilities like everyone else. I have never defrauded anyone in my life. However, I must have a little bit of chancer blood in me, cos I would definitely take a chance on this one. Does that make me an undesirable person with no morals? I don't think so, I think it makes me an eternal optimist.
To the OP - it would be great to know what your pal decided to do. I promise not to judge either way, especially given that her husband is just about to lose his job, and could probably do with the extra cash right now.
Oh, that's my last little bit as well.
Of course I for one dont think you have no morals and I do understand what you mean about being the eternal optimist...........but
I am a mother of 4 children myself, and to be honest, I would never, ever tell my children that this was the right thing to do.
Its like saying to them "you found £100.........................that other person has lost it, but they dont know you found it..................just keep it..................after all its their mistake for losing it in the first place"
teee heee Annie isint he a hunk and a half...............he's not so nice now tho.........................age gets us all in the end huh!!!
hi..fwh first class comments i agree with every word you say.....regards ..johndoe
Not been on here for a while, absolutely gobsmacked at the amount of heat this topic has generated!!
Sat here chilling with a vodka and coke as on holiday for 2 weeks and haven't spoke to me mate from work. She won't believe the amount of posts on here, with regards to the holiday being paid off!
When I left work and showed her the posts on here, she has decided to pay off the holiday as she really can't do with the thought of losing her holiday and letting the kids down... But .... she is going to pay it off at the required deadline, just to see what happens when she gets her final reminder on the 16th May. The money is now all waiting in the bank ready to pay off the holiday.
She's going to frame ithe final reminder and put on our wall at work
I will let you know what happens in May and get her to show me the letter, so I can type the main bumf of it on here!
Bye thanks for all your opinions! I have to say where luck is concerned this lass is the most unluckiest I have ever met! So the chances of her getting caught would be 99.9%!
will keep you updated
Barnsie
Well, Barnsie! Having just come back from a fortnight myself, I too am amazed at how much heat this has generated. And I'd be interested to know whether all those who have taken the 'swings and roundabouts' perspective would take the same line if your pal had been overcharged. Would they have advised her to just roll with it and accept that you win some, you lose some'? I think not, and the bottom line for me is that I'd I've been on their case immediately if they'd overcharged me and it seems only fair to own up when I realise that others have made an honest mistake to their detriment. I'm quick to act if I'm shortchanged in a shop but I'm equally quick to point it out to them if they've overpaid me and given me change for a tenner when I only gave them a fiver. These things aren't about whether I've lost out in other situations or not, it's about fairness and honesty. I expect others to deal fairly and honestly with me and so I think that they have every right to expect me to deal fairly and honestly with them.
There`s only 2 left now, cos me and SM have both taken one each
We wear them with pride and a clear conscience.

Perfect fit!
hi ..robby .. i will take one as well....many thanks ...johndoe
Don't worry though, I've got a boxful, all unused - you get them cheap up here, maybe not as cheap as Liverpool, but still cheap.
Now I really know why the country is in such a mess, all the "honest" peolple are spending all day on HT, instead of sorting the country out.
This has been a good thread.

Looks like you've logged into the wrong site Robbie
Me old matey at work has finally made her decision
She went to the travel agents and confessed all! dizzy agents were still in the dark! They seem to make mistakes left right and centre.
Anyway between us all at work, we are going to photocopy all correspondence sent to her by TA and send a letter of complaint for all the stupid information she has had, to the Head Office and make an official complaint!
I'd like to point out that this lass is certainly no angel , I too have a family holiday booked for the summer and would not have been too chuffed if things went pear shaped, after so much planning.
Anyway, she would like to say a big thank you for all your posts, it actually gave us a right old laugh.. Entertained us when we were knackered and worn out.
Everyone to their own hey! I wouldn't of judged her if she had decided to not own up, in the end it was her holiday! I sure there's alot worse crimes, though I think in this case it was the right thing to do, she's so much happier and getting excited about the holiday rather than for ever worring about what to do about payments.
Thanks again
Barnsie
Thanks for the up-date Barnsie, I think she made the right decision Hope she has a lovely holiday
Thanks barnsie, i agree with Shell, she has done the right thing. She can now sit back, relax and look forward to her holiday with nothing to worry about.
Wish her all the best Barnsie, and thanks for the great thread. I would have loved to know the outcome if she "went along for the ride", but sadly we will never know. I hope her honesty is rewarded, and maybe a little "thank you" from the travel agent wouldn't come a miss.
Have really enjoyed reading this thread as it has progressed to see what the outcome would be. Hope she has a great holiday.
Regards
Jackie
