As mentioned the nearest station to Candolim is Thivim.

Mumbai Central is on the Western Railway serving points northwards.
Mumbai CST (previuosly called Mumbai VT - Victoria Terminal) is the one for the Konkan Railway to/from Goa.

One train from Goa ends at Dadar in the northern part of Mumbai, which is actually closer to the airport than the city stations. The trains to CST also stop at Dadar.

From Dadar you can either take a taxi to the international terminal at the airport (make sure they don't take you to the domestic terminal) or for a bit of adventure take a local train from Dadar to Vile Parle which is much closer to the airport.

Beware the Konkan Railway is currently showing the special Monsoon Timetable.

Thanks for that. Can you tell me what is the difference between arriving at Thane Station and Vassi Road Station, how far are they from the airport ?. Looking at your timetable I would probably choose the 6338 Okha Express as my flight doesn,t leave Mumbai until 2.30am and this train gets into Mumbai around midnight. Would I have time to get a taxi from the station to the airport ? or do you think I should get an earlier train ?

I think the 6338 Okha Express is far too tight for an 02:30 flight. You should be at the airport checking-in between 23:00 and midnight.

Thane isn't too far away...

Vassi Road is off the top of the map and much further away.

I'd allow over an hour for the taxi from Thane or Dadar and more from Vassi Road

Did you notice the Y and N notations on the above list. That shows which days of the week the trains run and are the days the train starts from the originating station of the train, so for less than daily trains be very careful with that.

If it were me, I'd take the Mandovi Express Thivim to Dadar.

Goantogoa, sorry I am not much fimiliar with Mumbai ... visited many times but always stayed in Colaba...

The CST train station is your best bet as that's where the trains from Goa end there, so you don't have to worry - is this my stop? It's about 30 mins to 1 hour 30 mins away from the airport by taxi (depends on time of day / traffic and how fast your driver goes) At a guess it probably costs about 200 or 300 for the fare? (anyone confirm this - I can never remember)...

I've always traveled on the MANDOVI EXPRESS or
KONKAN KANYA EX, one leaves around 9am (I think) and the other 7pm (I think)
