We are travelling to Australia in a couple of weeks and changing planes at Singapore on the way there and back.
I have a couple of queries over the journey on the way there - if anyone is able to help!
1) our plane from Heathrow is due to land at 08.00 local time Singapore and our plane on to Australia departs Singapore at 09.00. I understand our bags will be checked through the entire way at Heathrow, so will we have enough time in an hour to get off the plane and on to a different one? As we are both smokers I would have liked time to visit the smoking area in terminal 1 at Singapore but am not sure this will be possible so am telling myself already that it isn't!
2) If I buy duty free perfume at Heathrow that is over 100ml once I am through security, will they confiscate it at Singapore? I don't want to buy it and then have to hand it over.
Many thanks
It's normally recommended you leave a minimum of 90 minutes between flights. I would think 1 hour is pushing it. You'll have to hope your inbound flight is on-time and make your way straight to your connecting flight. As long as the duty free purchased at LHR is in a sealed duty free bag and you retain the receipt to prove it was purchased airside, you'll be fine. Don't open the bag until you land at your final destination though.

Are you flying to singapore and onward with Singapore Airlines? I assume you are. As Darren says its quite tight however Singapore Airlines will look after you.
No its with Qantas - but we are flying onwards with Qantas and they suggested the flight times, so presumably they think we can make it?
If you miss your connecting flight, they'll probably transfer you on to the next available flight. They operate plenty of flights so it shouldn't be too much of a wait. Just make sure you go straight to the connection and if you do miss it, you can claim it was the booking system that suggested you would make it. They may argue it was up to you to ensure you had enough time between flights though. As long as the inbound isn't late, you should be ok.

I just checked the Qantas website and if you put in Heathrow to Perth on the day we are going they suggest the flights we have - so presumably we won't be the only people this is happening to. We have booked through a specialist travel agent so I will double check with him when we collect the tickets etc next week.
