Hi,
I'm off to Tsilivi in just over 2 weeks time, has anyone got any recommendations for restaurants and which to avoid? I would like to try greek food a couple of times but also would quite like other types of cuisine ie italian, english etc but not too expensive.
Thanks
Kate
Have a look on here.
Us too, us being me, husband and kids. Going to Admirals any info.
Hire a car go down to Keri, wonderful sunsets there. We hired a boat for 4 hours, was great fun. Something not to be missed! Take a packed lunch and plenty of drinks though. I don't know what the prices are like now as it was pre-euro when we went. Have fun

I'm going back to zante this year having stayed previously in kalamaki. this year i am going to tsilivi, would be grateful of people's opinions on the resort and recommendations on eating out.
beach is nice but rather narrow so can get quite packed, we found a nice cove about 4 miles up the road, cannot remember what it was called at the moment, but will post again if it comes back to me.
Zante is a beautifull island so i would reccomend a car or scooter to see it.
road signs are weird, they only indicate when you have left a village, and not when you enter ???
Zante town is the pitz, but you have to go, if only to see how the other half live
sorry to go on but we think zante is 2nd best to ibiza, have a brill time, and let us all know how you get on
best wishes

hi,we are thinking of booking a week in tsilivi staying at the dannas studios i think we will book it sooner rather than later as we have read some good reports about the resort and we have always wanted to go to zante cheers Mark.
We stayed at the Jupiter hotel and nearby is a nice little cove which is much quieter than the main beach. The resort is compact and there were numerous eating and drinking places.
Personally, I don't think it is a place that people can dislike. Hiring a car or jeep though is a must. Drive over to the blue caves and get on a boat to take you round them. There is also a little town in the mountains that sells rugs (at least it did 4 years ago)
Have fun
We went to tsilivi 3 summers ago and had a really nice time, I reccomend the cats whiskers and manos grill gor a meal, and the level bar serves up a great cocktail, there is a website, http://www.justzante.co.uk I found some useful stuff on there.I am sure you will love it, it was a place with something for everyone, if you enjoy a full english breakfast, fawlty towers was superb
here's a current Tsilivi forum with a good thread to start with.
there's plenty of current info on the forum from 2004.
Have a read of this for starters

I have a good friend who went to Tsilivi a couple of years ago. big familly holiday.. mum dad.. children.. granchildren.. aunts uncles.. granparents..
They all loved it and rccomended Tsilivi as the best resort they had ever stayed in on a familly holiday.
paul..
Fantastic beach and none of the hotels seemed to be too far away from it!
There was a bit of buliding work along the front but should be well finished by now!
We went in May and there was a bit of a wind off the sea, not sure if it was just that day. If thats normal be careful you don't burn.
Have a nice time!
We stayed in Old Alykanas the year before last and hired a jeep to see the island, we wanted to stop in Tsillivi as we'd heard the beach was lovely but as soon as we saw the Macdonalds!!! and the amount of bars etc we soon changed our minds and carried on driving! We went down to Vassillikos (much nicer) and ended up at Dafni beach one of the best beaches on Zante. Tsillivi certainly wasn't our cup of tea! We thought Alykanas was commercialised until we saw Tsillivi, but if you want lively and don't mind lots of other Brits around you then you'll be fine.
I have to say that I agree with Duffi on this one. I used to go to Argassi in Zante with my parents when I was a kid & thought I would take my husband 'for old times sake' in 2001. I had heard that Argassi was now very busy & commercialised, so we chose Tsillivi as this was said to be quieter. We hated every minute of it! If you want english 'pubs', burgers, spaghetti bolognese & full english breakfasts galore, then Tsillivi is the place for you. If good, traditional Greek food & atmosphere is what youre after, then i'm sorry, I think you've booked the wrong holiday.
Read about our trip in my Holiday Reports on my website: http://www.ask-chris.co.uk/
Best regards,
Chris
Beach is nice although we are more pool people.
Good places to eat calypso was really nice
Did not have one bad meal in 14 nights.
A good resort if your looking for chilled out bars and nice places to eat out.
Hi everyone, just joined the forum today . I'm off to Zante on the 7/08/05 and am staying at the Planos Bay Aparts in Tsilivi. I would like to know what the place is like from anyone who has been there. I booked with Eclipse which is owned by 1st Choice who part run the place (I think). Anyone with any info please let me reply.
or please reply. Bad grammer
If you go to the top left hand side of the page you will see a box saying'Hotel reviews'click on this and scroll down to zante, click and scroll down till you find the planos bay. There are loads of members reviews on there
I thought that it was a great place we stayed in the Diasy appartments which were a little bit of a walk from Poppeys bar but not too far.
eating out was realy cheap and a meal and a bottle of whine was about £15. There are some great places to eat i suggest you try them all we tried most of them. Poppeys is good but a bit too much like eating at home. I must reccomend a cocktail bar right on the corner before you get to Poppeys and across from the supermarket the cocktails are first class and the bar staff mad.
can anyone reccomend a nice hotel to stay here, pref half board but not really fussed family type place
