ive had a look at the weather site and it looks around 16-17 which isnt too bad and warmer than here, im sure long sleeve t shirts will be fine for the daytime and maybe a coat for the evening. ill take a few t shirts too as i dont want to be caught out like last year in marrakech lol, might be best to have layers incase it gets colder or hotter, its tricky to know what to expect. will all the shops and markets etc be open, and any other recommendations of places to go with an 8 yr old in tow, i dont want her to get bored

to be honest iv never been to PEK so can not give advice where to go but if you look on tunisia.com there is a recomendations area on there which might help. as for the shops they all should be open. i no that in hammamet where i live they are so they should be there.

yes take warm stuff you can always take layers off but you can not put them on if you have not got them. there should be heating in your hotel room most have. apparently it is nice in the day but cold at night. :D

we went to hammamet a few years ago and hated the hotel we were in and it put us off going back to tunisia as we had such a bad time, but i found this cheap deal all inclusive so decided to give it another chance, we are turkey lovers but fancied a change, fingers crossed its better than last time, well it couldnt be any worse thats for sure lol

I've finally got round to booking my hotel for February - Riadh Palms in Sousse. I've not stayed there before and read the very varied reports but as it is in the area I like and I'll only be there for a week I thought I would try it out. I actually watched the hotel being built a few years ago and thought it was time to see what it was like for myself. I loved the Marhaba Beach in October but it is quite a long walk to the Medina etc. and I doubt I'll be spending too much time on the beach or lying by the pool in February so the Riadh should suit me fine.

Hi,
Too late to answer the question and a little way away from PEK but:
My friends, who went without me this year, left Djerba on 31st following a 17 hour thunder storm. Palm trees were blown over and the causeway was damaged, they had to queue for 2 hours to get a ferry off of the island.

They also had 3 days of rain while at Ksar Ghilane. Almost makes me happier that I gave it a miss this year.

There's certainly plenty to see in Tunisia presty and I'm sure you'll have a lovely time. Just remember that transport is cheap and many trips can be done without the services of your rep. Just have a look around this forum and it should give you plenty of ideas.

Haddy - you have my deepest sympathy. :D I, of course, am a perfect mother-in-law, though I am well aware that not all are as superb as me. At least you will have the first week to yourselves though - perhaps you could change hotels for the second week so she won't manage to find you. :rofl

I am going to Hammermet on Honeymoon on April 5th for a week. Can't wait! First time in Tunisia. We're staying in a small hotel near the medina. At the moment we are trying to find ideas of places we would like to visit.

Off to Sousse in a couple of weeks and was thinking of going back in October as usual, but I may now put that off until November as I'd rather like to visit the Douz Festival. The exact dates for that haven't been announced yet.

16th May for a couple of days near Tunis for a wedding. I expect I'll go back again for a couple of weeks about October as it looks as though the Douz Festival may not be until around Christmas this year when I like to be in the UK with my family.
