I was amused that the bleeper removed my comment about AXA's calls being recorded for the prevention of a something beginning with f and ending with d!
I haven't a clue how that thing works, it is a *****" *****"
Aslemma. As I am having friends round tonight and may not get back to my computer until after midnight, Can I just wish you all the best for tomorrow. I'll be with you in thought at 1am. Don't expect much the first day but after that be prepared to be amazed. Your daughter will take good care of you, but keep us posted when you get back to your own house.
Thanks Digby. I'll certainly come on here on Sunday evening and will have no excuse for typing errors by then. By the way, at 1 a.m. I'll be tucked up in bed I expect, thinking of the op at 1 p.m. tomorrow!
Good luck aslemma hope all goes well and you get your op tomorrow
Thanks Graham.
Sorry Aslemma. Have only just realised I had typed 1am instead of 1 pm. I'll blame the eye that hasn't been done yet!
Don't worry dear, I've done something worse today - sent an e-mail to the wrong person! Luckilly there was nothng 'sensitive' in it and they both know eachother. In my case I put it down to a 'senior moment', as I'm sure they would have done!! Off to bed now ready for the morning. xx
I'd like to say 'you're not going to believe this!' but I think you will - I've just had a phone call to say they've got a power cut at the hospital and have had to cancel my appointment. My son has had the day off to run me around and my daughter was having me over the weekend so I'm spitting feathers. Cathy says I'm still to go over there so I'll still be away for a few days. They have now given me another appointment for Saturday 30th at 11 a.m. - hey ho!!
So sorry to hear that Aslemma. You're really not having much luck. Between the eye op and your insurance claim you should be knighted for patience. Will keep my fingers crossed everything goes smoothly next Saturday.
I'm wondering if I should take it as a sign to cancel the op - with the way my luck is going they'll probably take my eye out and drop in down the sink.
Oh, Aslemma. I'm speechless! Just 10 minutes ago I was thinking you would be ready for home soon. This is almost unbelievable. You are one patient lady, I would be raging if it was me.
Chin up , keep smiling and fingers crossed for next time .
I am gutted for you I hope it does go a head on Saturday, all these cancellations must be getting you down.
I don't believe it, what the hell is happening
If I were in your shoes, I would have thought about signs too.
Or you may get to hospital only to be told you don't have a cataract, now that would really throw me.
Back home now after spending a couple of days with my daughter and her family so now it's a case of keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for next Saturday. Luckilly I've been able to re-wind my plans for next weekend and, as both my daughter and one of my sons will be at a dinner with the judo club next Saturday evening, a friend with whom I'd originally planned to spend the night after dinner and a nice girly gossip has agreed to pick my up from the hospital and keep an eye on me over night! Nothing more can go wrong can it!!
After everything you've had to put up with so far, I'm inclined to say I wouldn't hold my breath! On the plus side if they do cancel on you again, at least you have that dinner and girly gossip to look forward to!
Aslemma. Everything crossed here for you for tomorrow. Good luck
I am off to Tunisia tomorrow (Sunday) morning for a week so might not hear from you before I return.
Graham
Thanks both of you. I'll report back on here some time on Sunday I hope. Have a good flight Graham and a super time in Tunisia.
