Hi all, hope you have all had a good holiday wherever you have been (or still to go too). After some help on the cost of turunc this year. We never made it last year owing to my husbands ill health which was only finally sorted this year. We booked a holiday at the last minute this summer, flights to dalaman where exhorbitant so we ended up in Kos. We had a nice time, apartments good, food lovely but there was just something missing - that turunc magic!!.
Anyway having read about cost increases in turkey just wondered if people found this to be true. the exchange rater must have helped if prices had gone up. Can anyone give me cost of some of the basic things, ie bottle of water, pint of efes, bottle of wine, chicken dinner, steak dinner and anythy other things you might think off.
Went on a boat trip in Kos which was horrendous. So used to being spoilt on Musti's boat (or any of the others) by having a sunbed, lovely food, good company and lots of swimming stops. this one cost us over £75 for 3 of us, squashed in like sardines and given a raw kebab. Cancelled our next trip with the company and got our money back. Stayed by the pool after that.
Sorry to be so long winded. Did have a nice holiday but it is turunc for us next year so just wanted to get an idea of what cost where really like this year.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards

Having said that there is quite a range of prices, one of our least memorable meals was in Pisces, which was a massive disappointment and was about 150TL for 2, one of the best - casserole from Serifs kitchen, meze starter, couple of glasses of wine and beer 46TL for 2! Bondjuks excellent as ever 133TL for FOUR people, included complementary mezes, Bondjuk salad and main courses, complimentary rice pudding dish for dessert, wine and beer.
A loaf of bread straight out of the oven from the bakers was 85 kuros. Bottle of Efes in a bar 5TL, in the supermarket 4 bottles for 13TL.
Musti's boat trip, with Simba the dog on great form, was £12 each,as usual whole day including bbq lunch. Can't remember exact prices of drinks but were very reasonable.
Taxi boat to Kumlubuk 10TL per person return, Marmaris still 15TL return.
Turkish bath was £20 per person, included 30 minute massage, whole thing took about one and half hours.
Turkey is more expensive than it used to be, but compared to Europe we still think it is great value for money, and the exchange rate this year has made it even more so.
On another note do you know if the Nirvana apartments ever built their swimming pool? Just curious.

Sorry can't help with Nirvana apartments. Their website is no longer available and haven't heard anything in the village.
Its strange the way that once you've been to Turkey(particularly Turunc), nothing really compares! We do enjoy seeing other places in the world, but always find ourselves thinking of Turunc at some point!
Even though it is only a small place we still find something different to do every time.
We enjoyed a couple of days at Kumlubuk this summer, been there before but there's a bit more there now, so makes a good day out.
Have a good time next year!
