Benalmadena best hotel is on the front not far from marina,and plenty of entertainment obout.plus bus yards away to take you to Fuengarola if you wish.we are early 40`s so think it good,tryton hotel isanother goody,sea view etc

The Yaramar is in an excellent location. Come out of the hotel, take a left and you have the excellent Los Boliches, which provides plenty of shops, bars/restaurants and an excellent stretch of beach which is relatively quiet and not over crowded.
Take a right out of the hotel and you're only a 10 minute stroll along the sea front to Fuengirola, which offers more shops, loads of restaurants (including the excellent fish Alley) and the bus station which takes you to plenty of other parts of the Costa Del Sol (i.e Marbella/Mijas) at very cheap rates.
In my opinion, Benalmadina is a better place to visit as opposed to stay and when I stop in Los Boliches I always get the bus into Benalmadina and treat my other half to a meal and a game of crazy golf (where I usually let her win to keep her in a good mood). The port is excellent and there's plenty of bars/restaurants to keep you occupied, however you may get bored after a few days of staying there.
This is only my opinion however and I appreciate everyones needs are different.

I think that is an excellent decison. Have not stayed at the yaramar before but have stayed at la jabega and the confortel which are in the same area. The location is excellent and los boliches beach is lovely.

That looks a lovely hotel joolz, I'm sure you wont be disappointed. We stayed in belamadena,(very disappointing night life!), but went to fuengrola on a number of occassions, (Which we actually preferred), in my opinion, - you have made the right choice!

If it's a straight choice between the two i'd go for Benalmadena, plenty of good accomodation, decent restaurants and Tapas bars although you'll pay more nearer the harbour. Theres a good train service that runs to Fuengirola about 15/20 mins where they have a large outdoor market if thats what takes your fancy although Benal to has a market behind the Arroya although it's not as big, have fun!

Yes Linda, I will have to agree with Quakermass on this one, Fuengirola is a much nicer place to stay, but there again, everyone is different. We have been going to Torreblanca/Los Boliches for the last 10 years, and we just love it over there, we are off again in October and December, and we have just booked for next June, when we are going over the the month !!!!!
Think you have made the best choice, and there are loads of little pubs around your hotel, to visit in the evening.
