This could be going a bit off topic, as these two idea's are not luxurious, or boutique, but are certainaly Unusual, and away from the resorts.

At Assagao theres a tree hut here- http://www.casa-tres-amigos-goa.com

Or for a back to nature stay, how about a farm near the waterfalls

seeing as you started the thread lassigirl I've changed the title so it doesn't have to be offtopic

Thanks Fiona and Neil,

I have mentioned this one before and there is a review in the Hotel section. But I think it's a good one to add here, the website has been updated and there is a good photo gallery now.

I've found two more unusual ones

For Artistic Animal lovers ---- http://www.villarivercat.com

And if you like eco-friendly ---http:// http://www.yogamagic.net/index.php --- even the WC's are similar to the old pig toilets :)

Casa Boutique ..... beautiful! When you go upmarket in India they certainly do it remarkably well!

We're staying at the Casa Anjuna for part of our visit. I can't wait, it looks beautiful.

I've just found two more,
This one is in the South at Majorda http://www.vivendagoa.com
But this is really unusual, at Anjuna , the views are to die for,
http://www.thehobbitgoa.com They say it was a former Hippie cave dwelling ,until the present owners made it into a luxurious residence.

I love that little Hobbit villa. If we were going with a group of friends that would be a fantastic place to book.

Maybe your sister would like to look at this thread

and after looking around Soul Vacation at Christmas want to cross it off the list.

For anyone wanting to experience " unspoilt Goa " away from the tourist scene, Casa Susegad at Loutolim in the south, would be worth considering.

Checked out all your suggested websites - all I can say is WOW, WOW and WOW :rofl

And no need to win the lottery as I am sure a walk in rate can be negotiated if staying just a couple of nights.

It's given me ideas for a special treat for OH when celebrating his 60th next March :cheers

This one is definitely for the lottery winner - I also posted it on "seafacing room" question for Globetracker
but just found this topic and it is very very appropriate for here.

Everything you want to know is on the site (except how to get the cash to pay for it).
I have had a look round it and it is really amazing - It's own dance floor - very large pool for very few guests and lovely private gardens. What I couldn't believe was when we came down to the end of the garden the gate opened onto Candolim beach and from beachside you would never know it was there. You can sit on the seats inside the garden and look over the beach without being seen. There are no shacks for a long way on either side of the gate so none of us "riff raff" to disturb you. :D
