A friend of mine died from hepatitis, so it is actually a bit more than 'stomach problems'. However, I repeat that when they said 'must' to you, they meant it as in , 'you really must' and not any other sort of 'must'. That's the English language for you! Confusing. Both times in the past year, I have booked with Thomas Cook they have sent me this info sheet with every mailing, eg confirmation. However, I have always booked online, direct, not through a travel agent. I was impressed, because Thomson/First Choice have never sent this sort of info.
TC's sheet is entitled ' Passports, Visas and Health Requirements for British Citizens'. For Tunisia it reads: 'Compulsory: Yellow Fever if arriving from infected areas. Recommended: Typhoid, polio, tetanus, hepatitis A,and diphtheria. Rabies - if bitten by a dog seek immediate medical attention.'
Gosh I find this confusing. I went to my doctor's surgery last week, and the nurse said all I needed was Hep A and Tetanus.
Hepatitis A
Typhoid
You should also ensure that tetanus vaccinations are kept up to date.
