'fraid not. Vale do Lobo is not in the price range of my social circle. The golf is wickedly expensive (hence avoidance) and everything else is as well.

I agree with Curbsur, I think you will find that any accomodation situated in the Vale do Lobo area is quite expensive, The Dona Filipa hotel being the icing on the cake, unless you have pots of money you'd need to have a win on the horses or the lottery to stay there. Maybe you would be best doing a Google search for holiday accommodation situated in Vale do Lobo which hopefully would throw up some privately owned & maybe reasonably priced property for rent. Have a look at barringtons It is 10 minutes walk to the beach!

I don't think Barringtons is the kind of place to do packages, Vale do Lobo is one of those places where if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it! I certainly couldn't...

If you can find a package, bear in mind that the cost of meals and drink will be very high.

Algarveaddict. Thanks for your advice. We want to go to Portugal next year for our honeymoon. We would like a really nice hotel close to a beach. We don't mind spending a bit extra as it's a special occassion but not silly money. Can you recommend anywhere suitable? Thanks.

Might be worth looking at the Sheraton, Pine Cliffs. Not sure about the cost of the hotel, but it is obviously a bit more upmarket than the average, close to lovely beaches (mind you, everywhere in the Algarve is!), and close enough to Albufeira and Vilamoura that a cab for a night out somewhere a bit more lively wont cost the earth. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby too.
