I would hire a car, its 50 miles down the A7 toll road which is never too busy and the car will give you flexibility whilst you are in Gandia.

Thanks for that, but we dont really want a car as intend to spend most of our time on the beach, do you know of any other options

Hi there,

My nephew always uses the train when he goes from Valencia airport but unfortunately that is northbound. Having looked on my European router I am not too sure if there is a line into Gandia or not. Failing this, you could get a price for a days car hire 1 way, although I can see this being pricey or look on the Valencia airport website for mini bus or taxi companies. I am afraid you are just going to have to choose 1 of those options however it should be worth it and you definately have the best idea of staying put on that beach !!!! Have a great holiday.

Barnio, from which train station does your nephew travel? If I remember correctly there is no train station at Valencia's airport. Having said that, there are trains from Valencia to Gandia. See http://www.renfe.es for details. Maybe it will be a taxi-trian-taxi journey, but if you don't want to drive...

Also it's possible that there is a bus service from the airport to Gandia, give me time to look..

I think you are correct, he gets a bus to the train station from what I remember. He's a student, is used to and doesn't mind the travelling by public transport.

Shuttle direct here do it, but its quite expensive £18.16 per person each way for a private transfer. They are a very good company, I myself having used them as well as lots of other people without any problems. http://www.shuttledirect.com/en/php/airport_shuttle_direct.php?cod=EAL1097059704CBG Karen

From Valencia Airport

Get a
Taxi to the train station (estation Del Nord) for 15-20 Euro. Journey time is approximately 15-20 minutes, then take the train to Gandia (3.60 euro per person) Journey time is approximately 50 minutes.

The airport now has
the metro station built in so that you can catch the metro direct to (xativa) Valencia (estation Del Nord) from the airport 1.80e,

You can get the
Bus to (estation del Nord) for 2.50e)

and then the train to Gandia every half hour

Best of luck

Have read messages on the topic on how to get from Valencia Airport to Gandia, and these were dated 2007. I myself am going to Valencia in 2 weeks and would be interested to know if there is a Metro at the airport that gets you to the Estacion del norte and can you still get a train from this station to Gandia every half hour. Thankyou and hope for a quick reply.

As you say Allen, metro from airport to estacion del norte (xativa) and over ground train to Gandia From Gandia a short bus ride 10 minutes to the sea front or get a taxi. On Sundays train service is every hour to Gandia. Enjoy your time!
