There is a previous topic on Vegas coupons HERE It may be quite old, but the most of the links are current and there should be a $5 off coupon for the Spice Market at Destination Coupons.
Absolutely stay with the Grand Tower rooms. It's much bigger and brighter. You can practially touch the walls while lying in bed in the West Wing rooms.
If you use the Search facility you will find all previous mention of Vegas on this forum.

If you really fancy a little splurge, try the Celebrity Spa Suite. Often only $30 extra a night, and you get a huge room with sitting area, bedroom which is seperated from the sitting area by the biggest TV/chest of drawers unit you will have ever seen, and most importantly a massive bathroom complete with marble surfaces, shower and best of all a huge jacuzzi to help your body recover from the Vegas excess.
After staying in a Celebrity Spa Suite it was very very difficult to go back to a standard room to be honest.
the Grand Tower rooms are great. Don't bother with a West Wing room, I have never stayed in one, but they are very small.
Yes, we will stay with the tower room, thanks very much for replies.
Have you booked using the buffet deal? There were some good rates around and including free all day buffet passes.
No, Haven't booked the buffet deal, booked through a TA, but may e-mail hotel and check on celebrity spa suite. Or wait till we get there. It sounds really good. Looking forward to going, its 4yrs scince we were in Vegas last. Where are the best places for breakfast, apart from MGM?
Also in the MGM, the buffet breakfast is very good, whereas the lunch and dinner offerings get some criticism. If you want one particular breakfast, the Studio Cafe (24hrs) is fine but more expensive than similar 24 hour efforts in neighbouring hotels.
One of my favourite 24 hour restaurants is America in NYNY. We always manage a breakfast here and I love the setting with the huge state map of the USA above the seating area. Prices are cheaper than the Studio Cafe at the MGM and food (and service) is slightly better also.
Out of the breakfast buffets I have tried the MGM is the best, followed by the Luxor and Excalibur. The Paris Buffet is available at breakfast for $9.99 at the Tix4tonite outlets, so if you can hold out to get that it does get good reviews. I may well give that a go in November this time after threatening to do it for the last 3 visits!!!!
In the end convenience often wins the day on breakfasts for us in Vegas. Plenty of options closeby.
As for floor Nia, take your pick. We were on 28 last year which afforded a great view of the MGM pool area and mountains, but do try and request a strip view by ringing the MGM. Nothing is guaranteed but they do normally try and accomodate. We didn't get it last year, but did in 2007 (when we were in the Spa Suite) and had a cracking view of New York New York and the strip.
Even with many thousands of guests I've always found the MGM lifts to be efficient and I've never had to wait that long. In August last year there were a couple of lifts out of order on various days which did slow things up, but that isn't normally the case. Bear in mind it can be a trek to your room from the lift area on your floor, this was definitely the case for the Celebrity Spa Suite in 2007 but the room more than made up for it.
One thing I would add about the MGM, the service is second to none. For a hotel with 5000+ rooms they put a lot of much smaller hotels across the world to shame. Comfortbaly the best service experience I've had in Vegas.
'Le Buffet' in Paris is actually rated the best in Vegas now on many websites. Other good ones are usually in the more expensive hotels such as Bellagio, Wynn etc. 'Cravings' in the Mirage is a personal favourite of mine as well. Generally the buffets in the 'cheaper' hotels will be poor. Don't ever feel the need to try it in NYNY, comfortably the worst in Vegas IMO, even worse than the Sahara or the old Frontier, which has now closed!!
well, I've got plenty of options for breakies now, and will try for a room overlooking the strip. this is a really good site, people are so helpful. thanks very much, (am sure i'll think of something else before we go) Nia.
The hot food was cold, there was no milk for the cereal, the tea was cold. There was nothing to tempt me back again.
I really like Harrah's and the Spice Market for breakfast.

Paris buffet crossed off my breaky list then.
Think I've just crossed it off mine as well!!
At least I don't have to put up with the fake French'isms then!!!
TC, I think you might be getting your buffets messed up? The NYNY doesn't have a buffet, and I think from memory your Excalibur experience was pretty grim so that might be the one you were relating to below?
Despite the criticism (unfairly I feel) the MGM breakfast buffet is the best out of the ones I have been to. Great choice and service. The Luxor and Excalibur definitely don't reach those heights but for breakfast I think they are ok, but clearly there are better options on the Strip. As I said below, convenience and proximity often plays a big part in our brekkie selection so I'm not discounting a trip to the Excalibur buffet at some point for the first time since 2004.
I'm also up for trying the Harrah's buffet at some point also.
Harrah's breakfast buffet is one of our favourites.
You're right from an actual 'hotel' point of view, I should have been a bit clearer - the Asian (chinese) restaurant in there does a buffet breakfast.......and it is truly appalling!
Haven't tried Excaliburs because I've tried 3 or 4 of the 'cheaper' buffets now and they've all been very poor. I want to try Wynn's this year if poss. and will probably go back to Cravings again as I like it.
Cheers,
TC
Some reviews are saying it is better than Burger Bar in Mandalay Place. If that is the case I need to visit.
Also factor in this, $25 gift certificate from restaurant.com for $2 (normally $10) with discount code and you have a potentially sublime burger meal experience for very little money. Minimum spend is $35, and there is an 18% tip added to the non discounted total. Prices are reasonable and cheaper then Burger Bar, but I still think two people would spend over $35 (well you would have to wouldn't you, such hardship). Therefore by my calcs if your total bill was $38.00 with tax, tip would be $6.30 approximately making a total of $44.30, less $25.00 gift cert = $19.30 for your meal (2 people). Have I worked that out right? Seems like an amazing bargain IF (and I have no reason to doubt that) the food is as good as some are saying......
