All booked up now ynttk if we enjoy it which we will has i love the area round Victoria court will meet up next yr in cruise bar many thanks murgy
the apartment block was nice and clean although i did object to paying 2 euros each for a sunbed and a parasol.
we have been there at least four times now and although the accomodation was ok, i coudlnt believe how scruffy it was.
There was dog muck everywhere, and when you coudlnt see it you could smell it.
most of the shops were doing ablsoultely nothing, and the only restauraunt that was anything like full was that "charly bar" but it was all irish songs every night so we soon got bored of it.
i must say the whole of los christianos needs a lot of money spending on it, the only nice bit was the beach at play de las vistas but the bars opposite were tatty.
someone was mugged as well next to charlys bar and jardines del sur as well.
dont get me wrong im not posh and was brought up on the council estate but i couldnt believe how much of a mess it had become in the last few years.
the island really needs to pull its socks up.
i must say the whole of los christianos needs a lot of money spending on it,
Sorry but I have to disagree, did you try any of the bars in Oasis Del Sur area? There are a lot of brand new bars/restaurants there - Bar 39, Taylors Lounge, Indian, Chinese etc most of which are full most nights. No dog muck there either.
although i did object to paying 2 euros each for a sunbed and a parasol.
A lot of complexes charge for sunbeds etc these days, one of the reasons is to keep non residents out. If they were free then every tom dick & harry from surrounding complexes would be coming in & there would be no beds left for you.

It is having a lot of money spent on it. Unfortunately, spending money involves upheaval and inconvenience, which is why the place looks a bit untidy at the moment. You can't make an omelete without breaking eggs but I'm looking forward the day when it is finished as I think it will be a great improvement.
the muck was in all the plant gardens by the side of the road.
i do feel i can offer an honest view of the resort, i have been four times over the last ten years and always stayed in vc2. in apartments owned by family i also do loads and loads of business with TCI as well.
the front was dirty, there was always a wino outside "mas a menos".
the hair braiding women werent hiding form the police anymore why is that?
whilst talking to business and shop owners they all told me how worried they were about the trade, it was so quiet in the bars and shops, i understand the seaason only started the other day but wow, walking down cardiac hill near the market and looking over into "hollywood mirage is it"? the orange and yellow big complex there was not a single person by the pool!.
there are tramps sleeping on the market in the week as well, why cant they be flirted off somewhere else?
can you imagine staying at the arona gran with that next door!
we went in one of those tatty english pubs on the front near jardines del sur and the arona gran, me the kids and wife and there was a gobsh*** on the phone behind us an old man in his seventies 27 times he said the f word not four feet a way from my kids whilst he was on his mobile, my dad was brought up in very harsh circumstances and still lives on the council estate in manchester but i dont ever recall hearing him swearing and never infront of young ones. it reminds me of rhyl or blackpool
one dinnertime my wife was shopping in the area by the church (the three levels) i was at a spanish bar with my son, the one at the far end near a round about , sat at a table outside, and the waitress brought us drinks, pushed his toys over to one side of the table with a beer mat knocking them over put it down and put our drinks on it. we both looked up at her in amazement.
when we came with kids the first time they couldnt do enough for you, how do you expect to get people to come back with that sort of attitude?
the only people who will put up with that are stag wekends and hen weekends, and as soon as people realise you can go friday to tuesday im afraid its going to be all over for you.
the holiday cost us 900gbp in all and we spent arond 1000gbp whilst we were there if you go on teletext website for 4 people you can get 5star AI for around 800gbp in turkey and youd only need pocket money to take with you, its time the cabildo realised what they are up against and did something about it.
only a lighter note, there were a few goods points "maurice" that used to go round the bars floggin junk was an absolute scream better than some of the acts in the pubs.
the weather was ok as well. and i dont think its expensive and the immigrant things is not a problem to tourists as you dont see any.
please dont think im a bitter tourist i promise you i cold have gone for the whole ten days seeing customers of mine on the island i know it inside out and advertise in all the local rags. but i have to say things are on adownward slide for los christianos certainly the far end of it anyway
please dont feel upset by my post if you like it fair enough you like it
but i wish people at work had told me how it had changed before i went instead agreeing with me when i got back

What??! We have never stayed anywhere where they charge for sunbeds! Just out of interest, are the owners charged for them as well, or just guests?!
By the way j4ckos, it doesnt sound like Hollywood Mirage that you said was deserted around the pool, as HM is at the top of the hill and pool area cant be seen from the road.
The end of LC where you stayed will get better when new beach etc is put in, the bars opposite the Arona Gran (Big Ben etc) should be demolished, they do nothing for the area and just stereotype the image of Tenerife that some people unfortunately have.
Local council are really trying, but everything takes time.
Oh no, just read a preview of Holiday Showdown next Thursday at 9.00pm ITV1 and I quote " the tables are turned when the groups head to Tenerife, where the Kents family can indulge in as much alcohol and British food as they want, leaving the Wilsons shocked at their behaviour"
I love Tenerife, both Los Cristianos and Las Americas - just wish they would do a programme for a change about all the people (British in particular) who choose to spend long periods in Tenerife in the winter months, they dont get drunk and dance semi naked in Veronicas (well not every night) but programme makers seem to think that is all there is to the south of the island.
ps this thread is titled Victoria Court 1 - not Victoria Court II and those who have stayed at both know that both places are different in many ways and you tend to prefer one over the other.
The standard reply is that the sunbed / brolly payments contribute to the upkeep of the 'gardens', overnight security, Satellite TV etc etc - and helps keep the community costs lower for the owners.
But surely they are exactly the things the community fee exists to cover in the first place?
Exactly.
If the standard reply was to 'boost the coffers of the community' so that those resident 365 days a year got those renting the apartments to pay for their better TV reception, more channels, could sleep easier due to overnight security and had nice surrounding to look at when they wake every morning I guess people may have a different view on paying the sunbed / brolly hire.
......... and forgive me but I'm not suggesting for one minute that the above is true.
Regardless of the reasons the fact is money from sunbeds is a lucrative business as it brings into the community several thousand Euros a year.
The original question was
if you all remember.anyone tell me if theses apartments are family friendly
