You will either need to settle your bill in cash Sterling or $ or credit card they will not accept switch card. I would not let them convert my money into $ which they will do if you give them sterling. They will give you a very poor rate and I always decline their offer of them converting their bill in $ into sterling for that very reason. I use Nationwide card or the Post Office one which makes no loading charge. Other cards don't show this charge as it is buried into the conversion rate.
If you are not able to pay by credit card then I would advise you to change some currency into $ prior to your holiday and then settle the bill.
If you are not going to pay with a CC then you will need to go and lodge some cash at the Customer Relations desk.
Enjoy!
Other CC next best , but will cos 2%-3% more.
Even if you plan to pay with cash still set up the account with a CC it is easier, then pay cash before the last night or a you go along. We use the casino winnings(if any) and let the last bit roll over onto the CC so we are not having to queue on the last day, loads of people getting their accounts fixed, Get a printout part way through and do a check to make sure it is right.
If you have a Visa Debit card you should be able to use that but I think they may put a hold on the card for a few $100. again you can set up the account with the CC and check duting the cruise if you can use the DC.
can anyone confirm beer prices onboard anyother prices too would be good.... this seems to be the main discussion topic of the 4 of us booked to go... says alot dosent it... beer beer beer
infact info on this would be fantastic thanks
Thanks for advice on paying account etc. Can't wait to go. It seems like a long long way of September but hopefully it will soon be here!
Regards Liz
We are going in September and was shocked at the expence of the daytrips...so am dreading the expence on board for every thing else!
Liz.
I haven't been on the Voyager but have recently returned from a trip on the Navigator so presumably prices etc. will be the same.
Alcoholic drinks i didn't find to be any more expensive than here even with the 15% service charge ! If you have children your best option for the soft drinks eg. Coca cola, pepsi etc would be to pay the fixed rate charge, I think it was about £2.50 pp per day, you get a special drinking beaker that you can just have filled up as many times as you like. Other than that there is water, fruit juices, tea and coffee that are all free!
Hope this helps, enjoy the cruise!
Did you get your hair done or have a facial etc...by the way I believe the bingo..not that I usually play is very good, did you have a go? If so is it on in the day or eve?
The prices will be in line with the ship you went on.
Thanks Liz.
No i didn't have any spa treatments but a few of the people in my group did said the prices were reasonable, one lady had pedicure, manicure and facial for $99 so about £50 not too bad !
Yes i did play BINGO, i don't usually but seemed to get roped in! It was a bit drawn out explaining the rules in 5 languages but once we started it was quite enjoyable. 6 games in total with the last game you could win $1500......needless to say i never won. It cost $29 for the 6 games !
Hope this helps
Can't wait now, but was panicking a bit about prices. Now I'm thinking ...what the hell, I work hard enough! Ha.
Anything else you can think of as I haven't been with Royal Caribbean before all helps.
Cheers
Liz.
Ihad my hair done on Voyager Of The Seas and it cost me about fifty quid. I thought it was expensive but then I work hard enough so though monkeys to it
Hi Debbie
I just had it put up for one of the formal evenings. They did throw in a lovely band that they tied it up with and swept it back.
I didnt have any spa treatments whilst on there. I didnt feel the need to as we were so relaxed anyway
