hi ,is it true that gozo is a walkers paradise? we love walking but do you think it maybe too hot in july? thanks lorna
You could always walk in the evenings when it is cooler.
walking in Gozo ! where do I start ! There are so many wonderful places - where will you be based, and will you have a car - let me know, and I'll recommend some great walks.
there is a brilliant walking leaflet with quality maps
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1899554491/qid=1142585483/sr=1-9/ref=sr_1_0_9/026-9765317-9875640, but Amazon don't have it - maybe look elsewhere for it ???
As for July, walk until around 11am or after 3pm and you should be fine

hi we will be based in marsalforn ,not sure if we will be hiring a car , probably use the buses ,thanks - lorna
Hi Lorna
you told me your were staying in Marsalforn on an earlier thread - sorry to ask again !
good news from Marsalforn is that there is a good bus service from there to Victoria to start walks. I live on the south side (Marsalforn is on the north) so I havn't walked much around there, but...
1. walk west along the coast is very nice - past the salt pans
2. very difficult to walk east along the coast
I don't know of any other walks around Marsalforn, but if you went to Victoria, you can walk back to Marsalforn various ways
if you hire a car, then alot more possibilities - my favourite walks are
1. Ta Cenc - either around it, or walk around the coast to the harbour
2. Sannat to Xlendi
3. from Santa Lucia to Wardija point (where there is a punic tomb)
4. Hondoq to the harbour and back
5. Dahlet Qorrot "beach" and east along the coast
Pippy's link is to the best Gozo based website
