Jet ski's and Parasailing can be found up and down the beach's of Sinquerim/Candolim/Calangute/Baga, you can negotiate with the owner, but expect to pay £10 - £15 a go.

Cheers Spike, £10 - £15 int bad for a go on a jet-ski, how long's that for roughly?

I went to Thailand last New Year & it cost about £25 for 30/35 mins. (I think!)

On Baga Beach last Easter, I went along to where the Ski's were and as they were quiet I was approached by three or four of the operators. I haggled and got 10 mins for 500rps. I went back three times throughout the holiday and paid the same price.

If you are thinking of doing any water sports please check your insurance as a friend was called from the UK to come to Goa as his son had gone para sailing and fell 140ft breaking both his arms, vitabrates in his neck and back and serious internal injuries, he wasnt strapped in properly.
The insurance company refused to pay any of the bills as it comes under dangerous sports, the guys had no public liabilty insurance and the son had signed a declaimer, hotels bills, medical treatment and repatriation back to the UK came in thousands of pounds paid by his dad and mum and that was 4 days into a 3 week holiday.

thats dreadful- how is he now?
Thanks for the warning. Unfortunately many people get caught out every year taking part in dangerous sports without insurance.

This is Goa, no safety regulations, no one cares. They should all be banned so we can get some peace and quiet. :sun2

Hear Hear,They do care though, enough to make sure before you go up in their dodgy para sailing, you sign a form, basically saying if you kill or cripple yourself (or others) it's all down to you, so you are on your own then. I walk the beaches a lot, and the number of near misses and accidents I've seen, makes me wonder what possesses people to take such risks, far from home, and with no insurance cover of any sort. Alan

unfortunately for him he was a tree surgeon back home and is still unable to work, the watersports on the beaches is an accident/fatal waiting to happen to either the rider or the swimmers, 2 years ago 19 kids lost their lives for a cheap boat trip to anjuna, boat trips were stopped and all boats were made to carry life jackets, this once again had fallen on deaf ears and only the big companies appear to have safety regulations in place.
all i can say is leave well alone if you value your life and the lives of others not worth the risk for a 5 minute thrill. :que
