After much deliberation about whether or not it was the right thing to do, we have booked our holiday in Egypt for next summer!
I did have reservations about the heat and getting the kids immunised, but what the hey! You guys have helped convince me!
I am now really excited (only 10 months to go!) and our resort in Sharm looks beautiful (Sol y Mar Mirabel beach)

P.S I keep hearing mixed reports on whether or not jabs are necessary, when you are not intending to leave your resort. Any views????

The innoculations you'll be advised to have are pretty standard wherever you travel - even places like the US. Tetanus, polio, diptheria are even recommended if you stay at home!
With 10 months to go I'd suggest you see the doc, and get them all up-to-date
