hi i am going to magaluf in may and just wondering what type of clothes i will need to take if it's cold or sunny could some one please let me know thanks
Hi I was in C'an Picafort near Alcudia at the last week of May first week of June and the weather was fab the whole time, no rain just sunshiine the whole time, was a bit chilly at night so maybe a little too cold for a boob tube at night, lol. Have a fab holiday.

Don't think you'll need to worry about being cold in May, Liverpool girl. Shorts and beachwear will be great for day time. Summer clothes for evening, but you may like something for round your shoulders. I didn't but some folks did. I've been to Majorca several times in May and its a lovely time to go. 
just wondered if anyone has just come back from majorca, with some insight on what the weather is like now.....
We just got back on 22nd. Weather was a bit mixed, quite a lot of cloud at different times of the day but we only had one day when it rained and the sun didn't come out at all. Another day we had a quick thunderstorm in the afternoon. When the sun was out it was really hot, when it was cloudy it was still warm - didn't need a jacket at all.
Weather today is bright and sunny with a few clouds, but quite breezy, as it has been for a couple od days now.
It's probably past the time when you need to worry about being cold, even at night, although a thin jacket or Cardy might be worth bringing.
The weather over the past 2 weeks has been a bit mixed, but before that it was bright sunshine every day for about 6 weeks, which was quite unseasonal, but nice.
Don't get worried over the weather - in the words of Doris Day - Que sera sera.

We have just come back from 2 weeks in Puerto Pollensa and the weather was much better than we expected. We have great suntans!! But it changes very quickly, one minute it's boiling and the next it clouds over and it feels quite cool. So take plenty of layers and also suntan lotion and a brolly - we used them all!!

it was a lovely resort, very quiet in April, I think it will be busier in July. Nice beach (we were on the South - Sandy Beach end) and loads of restaurants and bars. Tamarells beach bar on South beach did great seafood and chicken for lunch. In the evening, Los Zarzales restaurant (around the corner from Trotters Bar) was the best, fab food and service. There is a market in the Square on a Wednesday morning which is well worth a vist. Also Manduca restaurant does great pizzas. All in all a really nice place, we would definitely return.

Sorry, forgot to mention the prices, same as everywhere else really, a meal for 3 with wine varied between £30 and £70 depending on where you were eating and how many courses - still cheaper than UK!!

What type of weather would I be looking forward to in May. I am a bit worried it might be cold. Will there be any need for a swimsuit

The last time I visited in May we had some sunshine and was able to sit/sunbathe on the beach. We also had torrential rain and winds and snow was forecast in the local papers
It was very hit and miss.

We had an hours snow in January last year and it was in the news headlines in the UK, even though later that same afternoon it was warm and sunny (I know because it melted our miniature snowman)
There are some mountains on Mallorca, and above a certain height there is always a chance of snow, but it never, repeats never reaches ground level other than about twice in 20 years and then only in December or January.
I notice your Tenerife connection - there's no mischief making going on here is there?
If you scroll further up the page you will see a number of postings from earlier this year which report of the weaher as it happened, and obviously it's far too early to predict what next year will be like.

As Adam says the weather can be variable in may but last May was very hot. Lots of Lobsters walking off the beaches.
The last time we had snow at ground level was February 2005 when the news of it made the national newspapers in England as well as lots of fuss here because our 2 or 3 snowploughs were in the wrong place!!

We arrived the end of April and the first week of May there was definately snow forecast because all the restaurant owners found it amusing that we had travelled from the UK for some sun so kept flaunting the papers in our faces for a laugh. I remember it well. It was a girlie week away for some sun and we spent most of the time sheltering from the rain and wind - cost us a fortune because all we could do all day was eat and drink
I am definately not mischief making - I am sure the weather at other times of the year is brilliant - unlike Tenerife of course when the weather is perfect almost 100% of the time

We were in Puerto Soller in May and the weather was glorious. No rain and temperatures in the high 70's low 80's most of the time. Evenings were also very pleasant - dinner on the hotel terrace most evenings.
I think it was probably hotter than the norm though. We were also out there in February and whilst it wasn't bikini weather it was very pleasant - bit windy but sunny which is the main thing.

Whilst it is perfectly possible to pay £30 for a meal, it's also possible to pay considerably less for good food.
Many restaurants offer a limited-choice 'Menu Del Dia' from about 12 - 5pm which represents superb value at between 8 (yes 8!) and 15 euros
for three substantial courses with bread, olives and house wine included.
The best ones tend to be away from the major tourist resorts - just look to see where the Mallorcians eat and you won't go far wrong.
