Just FYI- temperature in Las Vegas today, expected to be 116. Lots of power outages also.... I bet it's fun if your air conditioner has gone off!

We fly to florida 2 weeks on fri and I have been keeping an eye on the weather, all it says is thunder storms everyday for next 10 days.
has anyone just come back? Could you please please put my mind at rest that we will get some sunshine!! I am fed up of all the rain here so really want some sun to cheer me up

Thanks

would not worry too much about the thunder storms..

These were predicted all week, one time when we went in Feb once ...and we never saw a single one.

Besides, the weather over there can often be very localised - brilliant sun in the Parks whilst in down town Orlando its tipping it down......Also storms over there tend to be hard and fast.....ie big down pour, then quickly dried up.

Whatever happens you are not going to experience cold and miserable weather at this time of year !!!

If there anything to be concluded in 3 visits to the states it would be that their weather forecasts are about as accurate as ours !!!

Hi, We have never been to Florida but we are now thinking about it. However, we don't like hot, hot, hot, but other than summer, we are only free to go in school holidays. I'd appreciate your thoughts on best time weather wise, ie April or October school holidays? (Obviously we'd like nice weather so long as it's not sweltering!)

We go to Las Vegas next March for 7 days any ideas what sorts of temps I can expect so I know wot sorts of clothes to fetch and whether I need to diet if i need summery clothes

I would guess it's roughly the same as the weather we get in November in Vegas. Chilly in the morning and evening, long trousers and long sleeves required, and quite pleasant in the afternoon.

You may get the chance to wear shorts a couple of days if you're hardy enough, but very summery clothes wouldn't be required.

We plan to go to Florida August 2008.
Is this a bad time to go because of storms and hurricanes

Hurricane season runs all the way from June to November.
2005 was a very bad year.
2006 there were none.
This year hasn't been bad- a lot of Hurricanes formed but didn't impact Florida.
September is the peak month, but for next year- got your crystal ball?
Have a look at National Hurricane Center or http://www.nhc.noaa.gov

I was in Florida on 16th August 1992 when Hurricane Andrew landed. It was hell!!!

It is really a bit of a gamble when to go. I've been in June, July, August, Nov and Dec and I've only had one holiday disrupted due to the weather.

Some of the best weather we've had has been in June. Not a cloud in the sky for two weeks.

Hi everyone,
i'm going to Orlando with my Husband and 18 month old son,
can anyone tell me what kind of weather to expect in Orlando in December ???
I've only ever been to Orlando June - October, so i've no idea what to pack.
I know it won't be roasting hot, but will it still be shorts and t-shirts weather ?

Thanks

Hi,
We're going to orlando florida in the middle of Jan and just wondered what the weather was like and what sort of clothing we would need eg.shorts & t.shirts or joggers and jumpers?
Also if it would be warm enough to swim in the pool(or we would we need it heating)?
:)
Thanks

Hi, we are going to orlando 27th august - 10th sept, can anyone shed some light as to what the weather will be like. Are we likely to get very hot and humid(yukky) or managable hot( can cope).

we are newbies to florida and dont know what we have let ourselves in for.

Yes it will be very hot and humid and you will must likely have a very heavy down pour of rain most days. We have been twice in August before and are going this year on the 16th. It is very hot but if you are doing the parks a lot of areas are shaded and are air conditioned, just drink plenty of water and Im sure you will cope.
