Hi all,

Me and the fiancee are off to New York 7th-17th December. Can anyone tell me if it's likely to snow during December? I'd love it to snow while we're there :) I've looked on a few weather sites for average snowfall but can't seem to find what type of weather to expect.

Hurricane Ike looks scarily like its heading straight through Florida next week - we arrive in Orlando on monday - anyone know what we should expect during Hurricane Ike? We are staying at the Disney Pop Century resort - they will look after us, wont they? :)

We have a topic specifically on hurricanes HERE with some links that may be useful and you may wish to post in that topic.

There is also some information from mehmeh HERE, another mention HERE and mention of a curfew HERE

Here's the forecast for Orlando for this week-
http://www.wunderground.com/US/FL/Orlando.html

From weather broadcasts we are watching Ike is not predicted to go near Orlando but go on into the Gulf of Mexico again.

Hi - can anyone tell me what the weather is like in Las Vegas at the beginning of November?

Chilly in the mornings and evenings, but can be warm enough to sit by the pool in the afternoon. T shirt weather with the occasional day you can get away with shorts, but only Brits are likely to do that!

Hope you have a great time! I'm sure you will.

I don't want to go off topic, but asking where you are staying, etc so perhaps you would like to start a new topic or add to the Holiday Countdown one?

Just remembered about my posts above - for anyone who was wondering, we had a fantastic time last year in September - Hurricane Ike didnt come near and actually worked in our favour as it didnt rain once during our 1st two weeks there! We've been before in September and we had the usual thunderstorm everyday, but last year it was blissful for two weeks. The daily thunderstorms didnt kick in until the 3rd week.

We're off to Orlando again this September - cant wait!

Montreal,Ottowa,Toronto,Niagara Falls and back to New York.Any advice on what the weather will be like would be appreciated.
Last year on the same 2 weeks we did the Gollden West tour and the weather was very good warm but not too hot. D'ont know what to expect as we will be going further North this year.

hi guys!
were in the process of booking a holiday to florida but we have never been in June before? can anybody tell me what the weather is usually like the first couple of weeks of june? Many thanks :)

Early part of summer the heat is tolerable, specially if you are waking the parks all day, and the humidity-
well it's there, but not as bad as August. If I were going I too would pick May or June, or much later in the year. :tup

Humidity wouldn't be as much of an issue as July and August as already mentioned but we've experienced serious rain on trips during June which has often taken the shine off our trip. In 2005 we had 8 days and nights in Orlando before heading to the Keys and Fort Lauderdale and we had rain pretty much for most of the day for at least 6 of those days in Orlando. You will often hear people commenting on how the rain in Florida comes along mid afternoon, chucks it down for two hours and then clears up leaving a pleasant dry evening, believe me this is not our experience but of course other years may well have been fine, but certainly in 1999 (our honeymoon), 2003 and 2005 which are the three times we have gone in June it has rained considerably during the early-mid part of June.
When the sun does shine it is all rather nice although very hot. The parks are quieter although you will still find crowds on major attractions especially water rides if the sun is beating down. In 2005 Splash Mountain was 100mins wait. By contrast, when we went in October/November a few years back Splash was walk on.

Personally, we've agreed that June is out from now on in Florida as the weather can ruin a two week holiday and would consider May (although it rained a lot during May in 2009 according to people I know who went) or later in the year with late October, early November being particularly pleasant with temps around 26-28c, little to no rain (only had one rain day out of 11 in 2006) and the parks virtually empty.
