Hi Jadie

I'm getting married in Sidari Town Hall in approximately 4 weeks time, we are also staying at Zafiris Apartments. I stayed there a few years ago and have stayed in many other apartments in Sidari over the years but chose to stay there for our wedding as I think it is one of the best locations as the surrounding gardens and views are lovely. My parents were over in June this year and have arranged with Zafiris to have our meal in the cliff top restaurant, Zafiris gave them menus to bring back for me to look at and I have also been emailing him about a few queries and he has been so helpful. Its frustrating that you are provided with limited information, isn't it, I have been googling sidari town hall for over a year now and still can't find anything useful! I will let you know how it all goes, when next year are you getting married?

Hi karen

The wedding is next June, i have been having the same problem in that I can find nothing about the town hall! I havent been to sidari before but the apartments do look lovely, was thinking about the cliff top restaurant myself for our meal. Do you have many guests going with you?

Good luck and hope it all goes well, look forward to hearing about it!

Hi Jadie

Thanks, we have 19 guests coming over with us, just a nice amount! I should have said that I do know that Sidari Town Hall is not in Sidari! Its in the next village a couple of miles away called Peroulades. I have been to Sidari several times in the past and my parents go every year still and at the time of booking the wedding, none of us could work out where it was in Sidari so I phoned First Choice up who advised that it actually is in Peroulades. Don't know if you have the First Choice wedding brochure for next year but there is a photo of a couple who have just got married in front of the town hall. Peroulades is a lovely village, its very 'traditional' Greece so I'm looking forward to getting photos taken in the old cobbled streets, with the wee white and blue houses!

I am staying at the Lagoon Apartments, going on 22nd August, I know there are two weddings whilst we are there, and Jess the receptionist (lovely welsh lady) can get their wedding organiser to sort all this out for you, you can email them at - thelagoonsidari@aol.com, they are brillient people here, and i am sure Jess will be able to help and advise you. Also try the Hotel The Three Brothers, excellent here as well. Hope this helps, but Jess will be very helpful to you I am sure.

Hi

I didnt actually get married, i know people were staying at the lagoon and getting married, i know the receptionist there, but when i got there on friday 22nd august, there was a wedding on wed 27th august and they were all from Hull, there were 33 of them in total, most staying at the lagoon and we saw them go in the afternoon, first choice apparently done loads for them, arranging, you have to be in sidari a week before you can actually get married (7 days) did you know that, you have to be resident there, this is what the family told me who got married, they all looked lovely and they said the wedding didnt last long, approximately 5-10 minutes then signings and photos obviously and they stood outside the chapel place, they said it wasnt far from sidari, they arranged a large coach for them and the bride went in a taxi, she looked gorgeous, they had their reception at Dionysos Restaurant just on the main strip, across the road more or less, its a traditional greek restaurant and that is what they wanted although they do english as well, i think they had a mixture of greek and english dishes, 4 course i think, they said it was absolutely gorgeous and i walked past in the morning and they had decorated it beautifully for them.

Try the Lagoon in Sidari, that is where i stay and all this wedding party stayed and a first choice rpresentative was there on the day and went with them etc, it was well organised by first choice apparently, also lagoon do weddings, they had one the week before i arrived, and they had a greek band playing etc all night, but its obviously got a road next to it, so noise could be a problem, that is why this wedding party chose Dionysos. Try emailing the lagoon and speak to Jess the recpetionist there, or try first choice direct.

Hope this helps, and good luck, the wedding party returned on the night to the lagoon and partied on the kareoke all night, good fun had by all!

Hi Tina

Thanks for the info, we are booked already with first choice for next year. We are staying at the zafiris apartments, do you know what they are like? Might have a look at that restaurant u mentioned as we would like greek and english food as well for our wedding meal.

No I have never been there, but the reviews are amazing for these apartments, i have been on Just Corfu website and everybody rates the place very highly. I have also seen them in the first choice brochure today, spooky, they do look fab.

Yes try that restaurant as I said the wedding party really had a big thumbs up for the restaurant and how it was all set out for them.

Hope all goes well!

Hi Jadie

Our wedding day was out of this world!! It was like a fairytale...no exaggeration! On arrival at Corfu airport we got a letter from our Wedding Coordinator, Sally, detailing that she would meet us the next day, also enclosed was all the optional extras and associated costs. We met Sally (who is lovely) who spent over 2 hours with us, getting to know us and what our requirements for the wedding was and also all the paperwork stuff. Thereafter Sally met with us almost every 2 days to discuss the plans. We were completely stress free, Sally dealt with absolutely everything! I had stayed at Zafiris before so knew what to expect, my parents are friendly with Zafiris however I had not seen him for many years but the hospitality we received from him and his staff was second to none. Everyone within our wedding party could not believe the friendly service they received not only our wedding day but even just lying by the pool! Zafiris hotel/apartments definitely offers the most picturesque grounds and views within Sidari, our wedding photos are beautiful. We met with Zafiris and Sally to compile a menu for our meal and we also chose a mix between traditional greek food and english food. One of the optional extras available is to get married in a traditional corfoit village square which we opted for...the town hall is not very pretty at all! Within the square (which is so traditional greece, very quaint!), Sally set up parasols and the table with the rings and paperwork was all decorated with flowers, we had soft greek music playing in the background, it truly was amazing! Even the locals came out to sit in the square and watch us! We got a dvd made and I have watched it over and over again, I can't believe how special our day was, it far exceeded our expectations...i'm so jealous of you..i want to do it all again!!! If there is anything else i can answer for you don't hesitate to ask, i wish i had someone to ask all the questions i had coz i just didn't know what to expect! Hope this helps a bit!

Kind Regards

Karen

Hi Karen

Thanks for replying, glad to hear you had a lovely time. I hadnt heard about the optional extra to get married in the village square instead of the town hall. Was it still in peroulades and did it cost much more? It sounds realy nice, first choice told me the wedding would be around lunchtime and its only about 5 to 10 mins. Did you have your meal at the zafiris as soon as you got back? I wasnt sure what to plan as did not know how long it would all take. Did you have the restaurant just for your wedding party? I really like the idea of having traditional food. Ive been looking at dresses as well, did you have a traditional wedding dress? I might opt for a nice knee length dress coz i was thinking it might be very hot in a long dress! Thanks for answering my questions, i really am excited now, just wish it would come quicker!

Hi karen

I was wondering if you decided to use any of the the first choice extras or upgrades for your wedding such as a band or photography? Also when you had your meal at the zafiris did you book it and sort it out directly with them or thru your rep? Now christmas is out of the way im starting to get going on my planning! Any info you could give me would be a huge help.

Thanks

We are getting married in July 2009 in Sidari at the town hall we did not realise that you could get married at the village square, when we booked we were not given this option. Can anyone advise how to have a wedding at the village square and if there is a big difference in the cost between this and the town hall. We are staying at the Zafiris, can anyone recommend a venue, photographer, cars to town hall, hairdresser and any idea of costs.

Hi Jadie

We are also staying at Zafiris apts and are getting married in July we stayed in Sidari last year but have not stayed at the Zafiris apts before. We have read a lot of reviews on the apts and they have all been very good so we hope they are nice. Like yourself we are looking for somewhere to hold a reception we are getting married at the town hall but can't find any pictures of this anywhere. I have been on Agni Travel site where it is similar to this site and people have recommended the Orchard restaurant and the Panorama restaurant you should go on that site and you may find somewhere or ask any questions you have. Have you booked your wedding package with First choice and what date do you get married.

I have been staying in sidari for the past 4 years, last year whilst i was at the lagoon, there was a wedding (as i posted above) they held their reception at the Dionysos Restaurant just on the strip that leads onto the beach and the wedding group said it was absolutely gorgeous, i walked past in the morning and they had decorated it all up, they said the meal was gorgeous, english and greek, they couldnt fault it, so try this restaurant or The Three Brothers Hotel just further up the strip, this looks really nice as well, hope this helps.

Hi Jayden
Sorry for the delayed reply! I sisnt get the usual email saying someone had posted something! We fly on the 15 June then wedding is sometime during the second week and fly home 29th June. When do you go?
I spoke to first choice about the outside wedding but they didnt know anything about it. They gave me the email address for the wedding coordinator but I havent had a reply, not sure if they work during the winter.
I saw the Orchard restaurant on the agni website as well. Do you know that the town hall is not in sidari but is in Velonades? There some pictures of the outside wedding on that website.
I'll let you know if i get a reply from the wedding coordinator.

Hi Jadie

We go to Sidari on 17th July and think we are getting married on 29th and fly home on 31st . We too didn't know that the town hall was not in Sidari but have since discovered this. We have been making enquiries to see if we can get married in the village square, this is said to be far prettier than the town hall but we need to speak to the wedding co-ordinator regarding this. I hope you manage to contact the wedding co-ordinator and thanks for contacting me.

Hi - we've been to a Greek wedding reception in Sidari and it was really good. It was at the Oasis restaurant which can easily be divided up to suit different size parties. Oasis is not far from the main village junction and quite good if you're returning from Velonades. I can find out about a good photographer, a bit pricey but with real imagination and a 100 year guarantee! There is a mobile English hairdresser in Acharavi who will come to your room and do as much or as little as you want - very good, we use her all the time. Question - is there a horse-dawn carriage in Sidari?

Any further info - post a message.
