I absolutely love St Ives, we take our caravan and stay at Ayr Holiday Park which also has a campsite. The showers are modern, clean and the whole site it well kept. It is probably a bit more expensive than a more basic campsite but that is mainly because it is in walking distance to the town and all beaches. The town and surfing beach are about 10 minutes walk away.

Would agree that St Ives is Good :)
but so is Newquay but is tons more expensive ;)
Looe is nice but quieter more for the older person or boat angler

Tons of Campsites & B&B down there http://www.chycor.co.uk/aaariv/accomhp.htm is a good search engine
but you have got to ask yourself is a weekend long enough -- my answer would be NO!!
