:) Yes it has gone up a lot. I have found the flights a lot more expensive this year but I can still get a decent room/apartment for £8 a night - I could get one for £3 if I wanted! Still, I feel more at home there than here so it has to be done!

First Choice Lagoa Azul 3*B&B works out £1500 for 3 weeks for 2 people.
Good flights, plenty of room, direct to Goa.
Is it worth doing your own thing unless you are going for much longer ?

hi
we've never paid more than around £520 each for 2 weeks, we've been in jan & march & this year are booked for 1st dec this year. i spend a while searching on the net.............but i think its well worth the money, in the early90's i paid around the same for kenya & the dominican republic so really cant complain, the hotels we've stayed in in goa have all been good value for money, places like the magnum, osbourne etc

when you think how much people have to pay to go short haul to places like tenerife in school holidays i think what we pay for the long flight to goa including acomodation is a bargain!!! ( & even if it was more expensive id still go  )

Last December paid £199 with Monarch for three weeks flight only inc taxes etc. Also got upgrade to Premium for £100 return.thought I'd spoil myself and was certainly worth the money but wouldnt have paid the full price which would have been £299 upgrade (I think?) First and only time so cheap, just a case of being in my travel agents at the right time, was booked six weeks before flying!

I can't remember how much we paid but it was around £1400 for 2 weeks over Christmas. It may be expensive by Goa standards but still a lot cheaper than going somewhere else over the same period.

Our first time to India was in November 2000 and we paid around £800 for 2 of us for two weeks.

I paid £1,800 for two weeks flight only over Christmas/New Year for 2005/2006 through Monarch. It was Premium economy on the way there and the 'black hole of Calcutta' class on the way back. Needless to say I won't be flying with Monarch again.

p.s My parents are in Goa at the moment and they say it is still raining!
