We would like to do a thomson cruise and book seperate holels and flights for a few extra days in palma , the ship is back in palma at 7 am so how soon could we leave the ship or can we stay on until 11/12 like when you vacate a hotel room.

You need to have your bags packed and put outside your cabin door for 2am. Once your up and about and dressed you leave your cabin and go to breakfast, - never to return. Depending on your flight timings and as with hotels you can request another cabin/room for a couple of hours to freshen up but they will charge you. Wouldnt be the first time I have staggered back and tripped over every bag in the corridor on the way to the cabin on the last night.

just to confirm that you can use a courtesy cabin for showering/changing etc ready for the journey home, but last summer on the destiny there was no charge for this 
(they kindly provide fresh towels etc for your use)
