Think you are probably right Lyn. The two First Choice places that you mention & possibly the hotels that Portland featurel like the Hilton Sharks Bay and the Tropicana Garden Palms for AI's. The two I went to which were B&B the Crowne Plaza and the Rennaisance and are in the Portland book also had a nice mix of people and every body seemed to be getting along OK.
Thomson/Portland seem to have been going to the area for many years so may have an established UK client base.

The Red sea Holiday village has 3 Russian and 2 Polish tour companies using it now so its not exclusively British.

I don't think we were trying to say that any of the hotels were exclusively British as I am sure there aren't any, but just that there is more chance of the numbers being even in these particular hotels.
If folk just pick a hotel at random off the internet without checking it out thouroughly, they may be the only Brits, this is less likely in one that is featured in a lot of UK brochures.

There were more Russians at the Holiday village than when we went to the Conrad the same 2 weeks 2 years ago.The week before we arrived people we met were saying it was 50/50 but this was in November, their most popular month apparently.
Hi, I emailed first choice about this regarding the Holiday Village 2 weeks ago.The response i got was that there was only 1 block let out to Polish/Russians and this was for the winter period only, and that when we go (first week of June) and for the rest of the summer it should be First Choice UK exclusive only.Hope this clears up any doubts for anyone.

Just got back rom Dreams bech resort and it was FULL of Russians!!!

Apart from that did you have a nice holiday ? I'm sure that hotel was somewhere near the Rennaisance Golden View Beach that I stayed in at Ras um Sid, although that was only Bed and Breakfast and I wondered about staying at Dreams if I wanted to stay in the same area but go AI.

Thanks yes we did enjoy th rest .It was our 1st time AI but the wine was definitely watered down, beer ok, spirits were like paint stripper!! Also the ice cream resembled a homemade mixture,? made from skimmed milk and just frozen like that in tubs!!Not very nice. The food was ok although a bit repetitive and certainly a bit Russian style at times. Not much for the Brits.

i had people push in front of me a few times ,and i must say i did let them know politely..i think the egyptian staff liked me for it ...as they dont always get the best treatment from other nationalities.
We're off to the Sharm HV in October , and although i'm really looking forward to a relaxed and stress free holiday ...if anybody Russian or otherwise pushes in front of me and my family then they'll know about it

We went with Thomas Cook on a First Choice flight so very confusing especially in the kerfuffle arriving in Sharm as we kept thinking we were with FC not T Cook !!Nearly ended up on the wrong bus!The rep we had didn't seem very enthusiastic and I heard her say "3 weeks and counting" so maybe T Cook aren't going there anymore with all the shakeups there have been lately.Dreams Beach is definitely not on the website as available .Taken over by the Ruskis I expect!!
I hope people of other nationalities do read these posts, especially russian / ukranian nationalities.I have never witnessed such bad behaviour as shown by these people before. This is not intended as being racist, but when you are trying to get an infant upstairs in a buggy and a russian [the size of a small outbuilding] pushes past because you are in his way then i'm afraid to me they deserve to be slated. This sort of behaviour wasn't isolated either, and they bring their children up in the same yobbish way. They should be kept as pets until they learn some manners.
Yours thoughtfully Ray
I'm sorry but you cannot tar all people with the same brush.
We went to the coral sea resort and they were there as well, fantastic holiday though, besides the Russian that burst out laughing when my 10 year old daughter slipped on some food and went flying.
how rude can you get!? I hope you made a choice remark-I would have done if it was my daughter.Actually, my daughter found the smell of permeating cigarette smoke rather too much to bear as they were all sitting in the lobby bar at night as it was too cold to go outside and we were permanently gassed by the smell!! (Alison, an ex smoker!)
He was enormous or I would have said something, my other half was a bit braver or stupider than me and went over and told him to apologise to her. He denied it and said he was laughing at something else, he was lying because the whole restaurant went quiet when it happened. It was so obvious, he was looking over at her and laughing.
