We are looking for a holiday to mexico or caribbean for xmas for 2 weeks, there are 2 adults and 3 children, i do not know where to start and where is warm in December.
Can anyone please help with ideas, a good place for the children especially, if we can get a bargain great..but i know going at xmas will be expensive.
Many thanks
My boss went to the Gran Ventana in the Dom Rep for Xmas on my recomendation with his family and had a great time and it only cost about £1100pp - a bargain for that time of year.
The Gran Ventana is fantastic. I would highly recommend it.
Stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar on the Riviera Maya, which is only about a 30 min drive from the airport.
This is a huge complex consisting of 4 hotels - see my review.
Lots for children of all ages to do.
Loads of animation day and night for children and adults and also a daily childrens club for younger children, which I think runs from early morning to early evening and has facilities for young children to have their lunch and a sleep at the 'clubhouse', which even has its own paddling pool and playground.
Room service is also available on AI from 11am-23.00, worth thinking about if you need early nights with young children.
Interconnecting rooms are also available. We initially booked 2 rooms with Eclipse Direct, and then e-mailed the hotel direct with a request for interconnecting rooms, which we were duly allocated on arrival, and which were excellent.
Sorry, can't advise on prices for Christmas, but, if you're interested, do try Eclipse which is part of First Choice.
Another tip would be not to upgrade to Star Class Premier, as the Star Class cabin is quite comfortable for the long haul flight.
