Hi judith, It all depends on what you are looking for, we have stayed at the Vilanova complex in the Sao Joao area of Albufeira, It's very good for families. We are going back again next year

I was going to ask the same question...... but have a 16 year old lad. We like it quite busy, so within walking distance of bars and nightlife, and close to a beach.

We are Algarve virgins, so dont want to end up in the wrong resort.

The Vilanova complex is literally 10 metres from the famous Sao Joao strip but surprisingly you dont get too much noise from the strip in your room, The beach is about a 10 min walk down cardiac hill!, everything you need is right on the doorstep! Great bars and restaurants. It's about a 2 min walk to linekars bar, if you want anymore in for just ask
