I have been to Almeria several times now - Almeria City, Roquetas and Retamar with my friends, but next time I will be taking my husband and two teenage stepdaughters over the Whitsun bank holiday in May 2007 and am not sure which resort to stay in.

We will not be hiring a car and want to go somewhere not far from Almeria airport. The girls are fussy eaters (e.g. if it's junk food, they'll eat it!) although my husband and I prefer trying out local cuisine.

Equally they are all reluctant to try speaking Spanish apart from the odd hola and adios - not out of ignorance but because they are shy!

I had looked at Mojacar but I have heard varying reports that a transfer can take up to an hour and that really is too long a journey for us by taxi.

We would prefer an apartment with two bedrooms and preferably two bathrooms or at least two toilets!

Any recommendations would be helpful.
