Hi, I'm a newbie and would like some advice on where to stay in Goa. My wife and I are palnning to meet her sister, partner and 9 year-old daughter in Goa for a 2 week holiday in July/August. They live in Sydney and it would be a half-way point.
We would like a quietish area, with a hotel with a bit of character on or near the beach, mid price or a bit more.
Looking forward to some travel discussions!

As Noel stated, certainly not the best time, on top of the rain, most places will be closed.
Maybe think about meeting up in Thailand (on the gulf side) at that time of year.

I know it's never for certain, but for better weather the likes of Koh Samui would be a a better choice in the July/ August months, it seems to be where half of OZ go to.

Having done two full monsoons, highly recommend you look elsewhere, its grim.
