If you are looking for commercially run accommodation there are several small family run apartment complexes, Burak and Rose are both very popular, but have small pools. You're right in that tour operators don't tend to go to Turunc.

I don't know what airport you will be flying from but Gatwick to Dalaman at the moment July and August, flights are around £250 ish with luggage on http://www.skyscanner.net if you are able to be flexible with dates, put in 'whole month' for your search then a graph will be displayed, so you can see the cheaper days. You may be able to get cheaper packages to Turkey but they are likely to be in the bigger commercialised resorts and the accommodation is likely to be basic.
