Gran Canaria is excellent, especially in the taurito/mogan area at that time of year. Egypt is another good bet.
Egypt (red sea) would be my choice. flight a bit longer than you would like at 5 hours but probably not a lot more than the canaries . Cape Verde may also be worth a look
where is cape verde?
Its a fairly new destination . thomsons have had it in their brochures for a 2/3 years now . Close to the canaries. looks good . probably a more relaxing holiday as it seems to be a scattering of Riu A/i hotels .
Hmm thanks for that lyn... i shall go and have a look for the brochures tomorrow!
CLICK HERE Just a bit further south from the Canaries, so about 5-5½ hours flight.
More info about Cape Verde
Think you're really looking at The Canaries or Egypt for your best chance of good weather at that time of year. I've been to Lanzarote a couple of times and enjoyed it although I believe it has been quiet over the last couple of years, so probably even more so in March. It all depends on what type of holiday your after I suppose.
New York for the hope of some march snow in central park!
