Lush website CLICK HERE
We have 3 Lush stores in Manchester (one in the Trafford Centre) so I don't need to order online. If you're lucky enough to have store nearby you will find it by following your nose... the smell is gorgeous.

My neice dragged me in to their Metro Centre branch before Christmas. I couldn't stand the smell and came out after 5 mins it was so overpowering. She loves stuff from there.

Must admit we bought a colleague some Lush as she said she liked it. Bloody expensive and very smelly!

Any body got any reviews on "Marilyn" for blondes? I quite fancy some but if you go really lighter than you already are I'd like to know first. I'd hate to use it and the end result be platinum

What do you mean marilyn for blondes? :D and i know what you mean about blokes lol

When I was browsing the Lush website, I clicked on Marilyn. It's a cream you put on your hair and lightens it I think, from the reviews. I don't want to get some and use it only to end up looking like Marilyn.......although that wouldn't be a bad thing.

Avon do a highlighting gel. My 16 year old daughter uses it. Her hair is mid to light brown and you just run is through your hair where you want it then the heat from the sun/hairdryer lightens it. I let her use it because it looks so natural and lightens the hair where it has been used a few shades as opposed to looking like shop bought 'platinum' hightlights.

Also have to agree with you about Lush. Although they probably do lovely stuff in there I can't walk past the shop without the smell making me feel ill. Those poor girls that work in there must come out with a thumping headache every day. Good if you can order it on line though.

Lush is just a gimmick. Whether its hand made or not, it makes no difference where soap is concerned.

That hairlighting gel sounds good might try it :!: I love trying new stuff so if anyone has any tips or ideas i would be thankful :D
Need to start getting my summer stuff soon.
What is the best thing for long hair on holiday :?:
Thanks Sian..x :)

I get my sun care stuff from Avon although I do buy the Piz Buin All Day Protection Cream to put on in the morning before I leave the apartment. Then top up with factor 15 creams throughout the day.

I have long hair and I use a spray for sun/heat protection (got my last lot from Avon but not sure if they still do it). I put my hair up during the day and always wear a hat (even though I dont really do hats !). I then wash my hair on an evening.

I purchase most of my holiday toiletries from the supermarkets. Taking advantage of any 2 for 1 offers and putting one away (I actually dont go on holiday myself until September but I have already started buying bits and pieces to put away). Clothes come from wherever. Peacocks do lovely vest tops in packs of three. Primark is also good value for bits and pieces (but thats another thread!), I get my swimming costumes from M&S because they do classic lines that flatter and cater for my size. I also buy my T shirts there. George at Asda is brilliant for going out tops and trousers/skirts and mens stuff at great value.

I think you have to shop around and choose the best bargains. I like to start preparing early. That way when my holiday comes around I have everything I need and dont need to find extra money to buy stuff.

I use mandmdirect.co.uk (which is a sort of sports clothing shop) for my kids (16&13).
It has all the popular brand names and they have some really good sales.
I got some lovely swimshorts for my 16yr old and also trainers, pool shoes etc are good value.

Hi

I go all over cos i love preparing for my hols I'm not a big fan of superdrug but i do buy travel wash from there to wash out my bikinis. I usually go to boots as i collect advantage points. I would go to savers but nottingham doesn't have one in the city centre. We have just recently got a primark which is great we also have Lush which I used to love but i think it was making my migranes worse with the smell in my bathroom from all the bath bombs plus they used to make a right mess of the bath (rose petals, twigs etc) I buy a lot of beauty products off qvc molton brown, locitanne, philosophy and elemis they have special values and you get very good deals.

Another Lush fan. The bath bombs are fab!!

I buy all my basic clothes from Primark and Peacocks. The Primark in Lakeside is heaven at the moment. A whole floor of womens clothes and another with shoes, jewellery and swimwear! In Cyprus last year a girl on a boat trip I went on was wearing the same sun glasses as me. She calls it "Pre-marche" as it sounds posher

I find a bar of Dove makes a good replacement for shower gel and I only take enough suncream for he first few days and buy the rest in resort (ask for those that are displayed in store as they are often on display in the sun which can hinder the spf.
