Hi silk,
you would not go wrong with the Barut Lara it is a superb hotel and i could go on and on about how good it is. The waterslides are great for the ages of your children, the kids club is good, our son was a bit to old 13 for it last easter but the kids animator took the older boys and some girls to play football each evening and was very good with them. Our son was the only english kid being out of the main holiday season but he was made to feel included by all the other kids.
The food is very good and you get waiter service for drinks even in the night club. There is a cinema and they show an english film each day.
The in room dvd player is very handy and you can hire films from the shop for approx £2 and ones that are not out yet in the uk.or take your own, handy to keep the kids amused while you get ready. all the hotels in lara look fantastic but some only serve local drinks, the titanic I have read charge £7 per person for the al a carte restaurants, which could mount up, so you really need to look at each property and what it offers.

The delphin palace in lara is where we are going this easter, we viewed it while at the Barut Lara because we had already booked it for this easter is a lovely looking hotel and would appeal to younger kids as it has a mini fairground, bowling alley, games machines etc, you have to pay for the bowling. You can have room service after midnight and get a bathrobei n the rooms.
The delphin is over the top luxury and has a pier with a bar and the indoor pool is lovely.
We have booked to go to the Barut Lara again at Easter 2008 that is how much we enjoyed the quality of this hotel. Go on tripadvisor there is not one bad review and not many hotels can boast to that. The Barut is very contempory and the rooms so comfortable. The fridge gets filled with proper coke and pop and beers and water daily, some hotels only fill the fridge on arrival, so that is a point to look out for. They have a wonderful pattiserie which have lovely cakes and gateauxs and ice cream for the kids for about six hours a day.
We have done many all- inclusives to all over europe but more so to turkey and this is the best to date. Just hope the delphin matches up to it, but I am sure it will be good anyway.
Lara is a quite resort and you will feel safe but there is not much other there other than the hotels this suits us just fine and the hotels have all you need. They where just finishing a new shopping mall when we went last year near to the delphin.
Hope this helps and hope you enjoy which ever hotel you choose !!

I looked at some of the hotel reviews on Trip Advisor the other night for the Titanic, and there was a review from someone that had stayed all of these hotels ...they were not recommending Titanic as the best though ...(not that it has put me off booking it) ...can't remember which they did recommend though, sorry........perhaps you could go take a look at it.

Hi jdbnsn
We have booked to go to the titanic for May/ June half term with our kids (9+12) so at least you would know there would be 2 other British kids!! I have been driving myself mad reading reviews, even trying to work out german and dutch ones!! ( Verging on obsessive compulsive disorder, I think!) So I know the review you mean. I seem to recall them saying concorde and lara beach hotels were best. We have booked titanic through cosmos and they know nothing about the 7 euro a la carte charge.
Barut certainly seems to come out on top of german review sites. There are some that grade them in order. We were quoted quite a bit more money for there though and got nagged into titanic by the kids.

Hi Violet,

we go to the Delphin in September for 2 weeks so am eagerly awaiting your review and tips. We have a 3 year old so wondered what the facilities for her will be like, and is there any restrictions on dining in the a la carte restaurants.

thank you
