Thanks Pam thats great. I know exactly where you mean and I am sure it will be easy to find. So we might give it a try, thanks for that. Hopefully see you in February
Last year we spent allot of time at the Bistro Shack on Baga beach. I have a feeling its not there this year as they are building a Hotel in its place. Can anyone confirm this?
As first timers we have just returned from Goa and although our rep recommended changing shacks regularly we really liked Silver Sands on Baga (next to Oceanic). We went there a lot and Naresh is a really friendly member of their staff. We absolutely hated Calangute beach !.
welcome to HT! I hope you had a good holiday. If you are thinking of returning you might want to look to the south. A bit quieter!
Hi Mardon the bistro shack is still there we have used it for three years now we were at it within the last few weeks we took the boys who work in it over a few football shirts and they were so happy I have a photo of the lads at the shack I will add it to the galleries and you can let me know if it is the same staff as you know ............colleen
Phew! Good to know the Bistro is still there! As i know they were building a hotel there last year. We have used the Bistro for the last 6 years. The Food is brilliant, and Seshi and Ganesh are "my little Boys"! Even though they are dads themselves now. Looking forward to being there in 2 weeks. At last!
I know one of the lads name It was pronounced Ga-nesh. He owned a little shop attached to the shack. His sister owned another shop near the left hand entrance to Baga beach.
Yes I think we are all talking about the same shack one of the lads has a little shop and I have seen him and the mrs doing a stall at the markets ..when we were there a few weeks back you could see building work going on up behind the shack ...colleen
We ate there everyday for the first 4 days and had no problems what so ever. It wasn't until we ate else where that I got the dreaded DB!
Cant stress how excited I am about going back. Showing my friends the places I discovered as well as exploring new places! LOVE GOA! got a little carried away then
Mardon not noisy at all there is that much going on ..on the beach you forget whats going on round you and just sit back and watch .......I was on looking at the photo of the boys from the shack its in the bagga page ...hope you remember the faces .............colleen
Found the pic. Yes thats them! Although Ganesh isn't in the pic I recognise the others. Thats just got me even more excited now.
Our fav shack is Radha Shack on Candolim beach (go down road next to health centre) and our family have been going for roughly 8 years. We even had our wedding blessing evening do there. Fantastic food and more friendly people you couldn't find. Go out of their way to help and it's more like going back to visit family than anything else. BBQ's are fantastic!!
We've been going to Radhas shack for the past five years, everyones lovely, especially veejay. Sid, the shack chef, set his own shack up last year (Sioras paradise), so we split last year visiting the two of them
Raj has moved to Scotland after marrying his girlfriend, he was going to ask Sid to run his shack for him as well, so when we go back in January, still wont be able to choose between them!
Sid still has Sioras Paradise, was opening a restaurant on the 4th December too - let me know if you go.
Raj is doing good in Scotland, he has learnt to drive (without overtaking 3 on a bend with a truck coming towards him!!)
on the second week we spent at the shining star in bagga it is at the end of the beach and was absolutley fantastic the people the food etc
i would recomend the shining star as we were entertained all of the time with the staff etc
Thanks for the info vodkasundae, Its fantastic news about Veejay!
The Buddha shack the guys are great and the owner sylvester was married to a lady from our home town of liverpool it was very strange when he was naming pubs by where we live. Everything was great there the food the drinks the atmosphere, it is about 2-3 shacks down from the fishermans who is actually his brother if your coming off the road turn towards the beach at the church in the middle of the road (st Anthonys) and follow it to the beach you won't be dissapointed .
