If you've got seperate accomodation booked as well it could be a bit more difficult as the airline is not responsible for that. It MIGHT be covered by insurance but if you haven't taken it out yet almost certainly not. Even the decent insurers will draw the line there.
If you've got a proper package the Tour Operator would be liable for the refund but I think TR is the one that has got a legal ruling to say they don't sell packages, just mix and match flights and hotels to suit you.
yes we booked flights as we did last year to dalaman with travel republic,we dont pay for the hotel and transfers until we check inn so at least if we dont get there then we dont pay.Cant see us not going but you just never know...
So your money will be safe although by going through TR any refund may be a touch slower than direct with the airline but compared with the shambles some people have been in that's nothing to worry about.
