PPC and Fiona, seem to sum up our feelings especially PPC's view
We look at the total cost of a holiday:
flights
accommodation
food & drink costs
visas (if applicable)
But the real question that we ask ourselves is "Do we really want to go to this place?".
If the answer is 'yes', then we pay whatever the visa cost is.
Our problems with Goa (which Janet and I both love) are only partly related to visa's (which the Indian Government seem determined to make as inconvenient as possible to obtain) but fall into other areas also.
It is the combination that makes us think twice about returning:
Inconvenient (or lousy charter) flights
Dabolim Airport! (and this could get worse)
The worsening attitude of some (not all) local people
We really would like to go to South Goa in November, but really cannot take the final step and book to go back.......
