hi people,, my first post here but wondering if anyone has any advice.
i recently booked to go to the world cup in south africa. i had tickets for the group games and also the final. the final ticket was only a conditional ticket only valid if england make the final.. so i booked 2 flights. 1 for the group games which i used and had agreat time but the the 2nd flight was not required because england were rubbish and wouldnt be in the final.
when i booked the 2nd flight i wanted to be able to get a ticket that was refundable. i discussed this in detail with the agent at "the wisemiser" and eventually the best ticket for me was £850 with £250 charge if i cancel. better deals could have been had earlier but funds available meant i left it late to book.
yesterday i called them to arrange the cancellation of my ticket and they said they could only refund me £181 in taxes.. Furious about this i complained and today they called me back saying they could refund me £307.....
i asked if they had recorded telephones which they confirmed they did so i asked them to find the recording and they are currenlty going to call me back.
not sure what to do next? they have asked me to email them requesting the £307.. should i do this then pursue the remaining amount or request the £600?
thanks
hold fire.....Im no expert but accepting the 307 could jepardise your rights to continue with claim for full refund of what was originally agreed....tweetie
I think you need to get that cancellation sorted as soon as possible - guessing the flight is 12th or 13th.
If you leave it too late then you might end up with nothing ? Maybe you need to cancel the flight and argue refund amounts later...

the flight is for 9th. i was told i could cancel upto 24 hours before, however im not in a mood to beleive anything now they said at the time of the booking..
Did they give you anything in writing regarding the T&C? Have they differentiated between airline charges and their charges?
Are you saying that you paid £850 for a flight and got nothing agreed in writing at the time???? What paperwork do you have??
