2) Expect to work long hours - 60 hours per week can be the norm in a lot of places.
3) You might get a night off each week but don't assume that you will.
4) Don't expect to earn a lot; depending on how many hours you work, €800 to a €1200 per month is about average if you are going to be a waiter or a barman, expect more if you are a chef.
5) Remember that although you are working long hours every night, you can still get out to the clubs when you finish and there is still the sunshine and the beaches during the day.
Good luck.
working in any of the holiday resorts its a great idea, but remember 2 weeks in the sun on holiday versus 5 months + working are two VERY different things. As casperslides points out 60 hour weeks are the norm, especially in seasonal resorts like Ibiza, where in effect people need to earn 12 months money in the 6 months of season. However, whilst it is hard work, you meet some fantastic people and have some seriously good nights out. make sure you have some money saved up before you go, so you can cover your accomodation/living costs while you try and find work. And persevere, alot of bars will hire people cos they are standing in front of them when they need them, so just because you may have left a phone number, keep going round the all bars and restaurants and asking...its also a good excuse for a nightly bar crawl!!
One other thing.... make sure that you get a Spanish sim card for your phone, no bar owner is going to even think about contacting you if you only have an English number.
Best guy to see is John at the ship bar in west end.Or use another site to really get more info on working in Ibiza. best of luck
