Hi jopa,
i liked the explore trip that took in La Paz and Lima, this involved a train journey and visited lake Titicaca, also i booked land only so i could have more time in Lima at the end, but alas decided to postpone for another year, so South America the year after. I 've often thought
of doing something daft like arail journey in Paraguay under my own steam then on the other hand i like the explore trips to Chile, it looks a remarkable country.
I love boating holidays, don't know about the camping though.
When we camped on banks of the Ganges, 4 of us "mutinied" and went back to a hotel in Varranassi instead of spending our 2nd. night under canvas! The mozzies, wild dogs and gnats put me off, I was really pleased when morning came. I really enjoyed boating on Ganges though, so peaceful compared to the Cities.
Yours Aye, jopa
Very tempting!
I was in Italy last week visiting my friend whom I met on an Explore trip in 2000...what a welcome we got! Spent three nights in Milan and two nights in Turin. Also visited Bergamo, it has a lovely Old Town accessed from a Funicular Railway.
Back to work tomorrow will be counting the days to end of May when we are off to Poland
Take Care, Happy Travels,
Yours Aye,
Jopa.
