Can anyone tell me if Albuifera is expensive or reasonable for food and drink? We went to Tenerife this year and found it quite cheap, definately better value than our last visit four years ago, must have something to do with the recession.
Local beers average €2,50 a pint which is cheaper than the equivalent beer in much of the UK. Wines and spirits are cheaper and are cigarettes etc. When you are eating out you can pay anything - obviously the more touristy the higher the price eg the beach view will cost more than a small back street place.
However your 'full english breakfast' will often cost more than in the UK as the ingredients have to be imported.
So long as you avoid the obvious tourist traps, by that I mean the places with 'touts' hovering outside, you can eat out well and inexpensively.
However, if you are in a group or like the hussle and bustle of a busy town then it's for you.
It is actually split into 2 parts old town and new town (miles or 2 apart) new town is the stag/hen do territory.
Hope this helps... Jon
Hi - thanks for everyone last year who gave me their input. I'm back! I have booked a week away at the end of September at the Quinta da Bellavista in Albufeira which I understand is between the old and new town. Really looking forward to it!
You are right. Quinta da Bellavista is a bit nearer the old town (12-15 minutes walk) than the strip (15 - 20 minutes) 5 minutes or less from the Modelo shopping centre and lots of other shops, fast food joints and general jollity.
That sounds great - thanks cubsur x
