Yes, I've used Venere several times now, for hotels in Italy and Budapest and have a current booking for a hotel in Krakow in December. I have had no problems with them at all. The bookings were exactly as expected. They confirm your booking with your credit card but don't take any money. You just pay the hotel when you leave. The user reviews are useful - they email you a week or two after your return inviting you to comment on your chosen hotel.
