Has anyone been to these apartments this year ?
I stayed in Yavor hotel last week......is this the same as the apartments ???? If it is I can answer any questions...
The apartments are in Golden Sands and are adjoining the Yavor Hotel.
The hotel is quite old but the apartments were brand new last year and are of a very good standard I believe.
Patka
Hi Pat, yes it's the same it sounds like you stayed in the older part.
Having said that the hotel was modern, clean and in a really good central location behind th ADMIRAL. The staff were freindly and the porter even showed me where to get the bus to Varna and what number to take and how much to pay.
I stayed at the start of the season and the hotel was almost empty...though I have no doubt it will be much busier peak season.
My only gripes were that
1.... there was no plug in bath so i couldnt take a bath and had to shower.
2... the hot water seemed tempremental and was definately not available 24/7
3.... the choice of tv channels in room is very limited......only 1 american news channel in english.
Having said that I would not hesitate to stay there again , it is far enough away from party street to be quiet.....but close enough to walk home.
If you have any specific questions about the Yavor ....please post or PM me...
Enjoy your holiday , I am sure you will........
Pat
Thanks Pat
going back to sunny beach in july and was wondering what the hotel is like
We stayed in Yavor Palace last week. It's in a great location. The food was good at breakfast but not great at night if you are half board I would give dinner a miss and go out. The hotel maids were always cleaning day and night and staff are really friendly. We thought it was a pretty good hotel.
I will post a review but I have been having problems getting into hotel reviews.
Liz
Thanks for the info going half board but as long as the breakfast is good i don't mind cos its cheap enough to eat out at night. Look forward to reading your review when you manage to post it. Cheers!
Well me and 3 other lads (ages from 19 to 26)
have booked to stayin the the Hotel Yavor Palace from the 12 June for a Week cant wait ...Even vo theres a lot of mixed reviews , but hey its a lads holiday , not expectin a REAL palace
Was just wonderin if anyone had any opinions on the hotel ???
Also how much would you take ???
Current exchange rate at 1.88lev the pound i think ...
Wheres the best places to go (Day time and Night ) ???
So many questions ...
Any advice really apprectaited
Current exchange rate at 1.88lev the pound i think ...
Maybe here but, as usual, in Bulgarian high street banks today's rate is higher, e.g. Raiffeisen Bank is giving £1 = 2.198 Leva and Postbank is giving £1 = 2.199 Leva.
See the Currency/exchange rate thread for more info.

Thank you very much ...
Well if you're not fussy about where you stay then you will have no problems with The Yavor Palace ! Went there 2006 and it was great. Hotel clean and newly built and the staff were very nice. Hotel was quiet and people respected the Hotel. Returned in 2007 and boy what a difference a year makes ! Hotel not as clean, staff were rude, very rowdy - just like a holiday camp back in the UK - you know similar to Butlins. Pontins etc. Then to cap it all my son had his mp3 player and Gameboy taken out of his bag whilst it was in the secure area behind the reception ! So when we went back in 2008 we booked Iberostar Sunny beach Resort and rebooked for this year as it is an excellent hotel and well worth the extra money ! Hope when you go you enjoy it but if i were you i would return to my travel agent and change hotels !
I havent stayed in the Yavor Palace but know the exact location as our hotel was less than a minute from there. Its right in the very centre of the resort and you have everything right on the doorstep, pubs, restaurants, and the beach nearby.
Lubo25 seemed to have had a bad experience. On a brighter note a neighbour has stayed in the Yavor Palace a few times and loves it there so much so that she is booking again this year. For 3 young lads I think its a good choice. You will find your money goes a long way in Bulgaria. The hotel is right next to the Kuban Hotel which is a skyscraper type of building. We used to use this as a landmark when we first started visiting Sunny Beach, anytime we were a little lost we would look for the Kuban.
Sunny Beach wont be at its busiest when you go but I am sure there will be enough there to keep you entertained. Enjoy!
Me and my family have just booked this Hotel for August, when you get back you gonna give me a shout to tell what it was like, been to Bulgaria before and just couldnt wait to get back
Have a great time
Caroline
