I`m off to Zante (Laganas) on Thurs and keep reading mixed weather reports, one day it`s saying rain but the next day the same report is saying sunshine!! Has anyone heard from friends/family out there how the weather actually is? I`d like to see a bit of sunshine, but just struggling with what to pack!!

Got back yesterday and had a fantastic week. The weather was lovely the whole time with a nice breeze.... but it was pretty nippy at night!!

A lot of the bars had closed down and it wasn`t as busy but that was ideal as no problems getting a beer :cheers

Would def consider going there again in the future

We are an older couple who love Greece but never been to Zante and wonder if it will be to busy for us. Have been to Kos an Rhodes like small resorts no to busy any ideas.

Hi Partyanne, Alykanas or Alykes would be best for you. We stayed at Grapevines Apartments in Alykanas, this is through Sunstart Holidays(subsidiary of First Choice). Like yourselves, we are an older couple and don't do busy, Alykanas was perfect for us. If you want anymore information don't hesitate to contact me.

Is there plenty to do in Kalamaki . We don't drive so are buses regular. How long will it take us to explore the Island .We like to get out and about .It's our first time in any part of Greece. So we are hoping we have made a good choice I am in my late 50s the wife in middle 50s But both still like to have fun and enjoy ourselves.Does anyone kow anything of the Whitehouse Apartments would like some feed back.We do not mind a nice long walk so that's no problem for us.Thanks everyone.

hi boroboy1950,
went to zante 2003,stopped in laganas, not far from kalamaki, can walk along the beach. there are loads of bars and shops in laganas,it is geared towards the young, but we were in our 50's and we enjoyed it. we took an island tour by coach, can be booked at numerous places,it was enjoyable.
sorry can't help you with your digs, but hope you really have a good time.

all the best

the BUS runs from Zakynthos town to Laganas via Kalamaki on a regular basis [sorry havent got a timetable] once in Zakynthos bus depot you can get connections to most of the island

and if you read the ZAKYNTHOS thead here page 7 has a list of trips i posted earlyer this year
