Chambermaids made beds every day but did not clean rooms on a daily basis, had to ask for clean towels and hide toilet rolls otherwise if you had any left, chambermaid would not leave anymore.

The food was disgusting, everything was cold and unedible. Very limited choice for lunch and evening meal and usually only the choice of 2 desserts. Had to queue for cups, glassess, dishes and tables in a morning and on several occasions had to clear the table before you could sit at it. All breakfast food swimming with grease. Choice of either hot dog, pizza on the beach which were stone cold, they then introduced bacon and cheese sandwiches which were also cold.

Regularly ran out of drinks and ice-creams at the pool bar.

Reception staff ignorant and unhelpful.

Entertainment provided by either Animation Team or First Choice every night which got very boring and all the animation team could do was dance (reminded me of Butlins).

Birds flying round in animation room and restaurant and bird muck everywhere.

The Hotel is stuck in the middle of nowhere and there isn't anywhere to walk to, you have to rely on the bus service or pay for a taxi which is 15lev each way into Sunny Beach.

The furniture in the hotel was all new, looked like basic flat pack stuff but more than adequate. The tables and chairs in the dining hall and the bedrooms including the beds were all new. The bathrooms had been done up but they were very slippery when wet. We had three rooms and two of the fridges were old and worked well. They looked like they were being replaced as time went on.

There were a lot of steps. If you had a room on the lower levels it wasn't too bad. We were on the the higher levels and three of our party were old so it did pay havoc on their knees, railings and even steps might help. We overcome this by walking the long way back to our rooms using the slope by the kids pool or went the other way via reception.

The maid came in daily and cleaned our rooms, made the beds and changed the towels. We never ran out of toilet paper. We needed more blankets as they hadn't catered for 4 of us but they obliged after a little coaxing but no big deal.

Our first week was a bit chaotic as they were at full capacity and were not prepared for it. There weren't enough cups etc but when the water goes off the dishwasher doesn't work, the same when the electicity goes off. Some people made a really big deal out of it demanding compensation and how it had ruined their holiday. I'm afraid it was those people who didn't stop complaining upset my holiday.

The food wasn't fantastic but there were choices and it was more than edible. A lack of veg but 4 choices of fruit a day. It wasn't English food but we weren't in England. It was nice not to have chips on the menu every day. My 3 children didn't starve either. We didn't find the need to eat elsewhere. Another toaster came on our second week which eased the queue.

The hotel staff did appear rude sometimes but they had their own little job and only that little job.

The First Choice reps were great. There were plenty of them and very helpful. I've have never been somewhere where there so many. The kids club was fantastic. I could loose my kids up to 3 time a day for 2 hours at a time. We also used the swim instructor who was also very good. I felt my kids of 4 6 & 11 were very safe to wander about the place on their own which meant a lot to us all.
We didn't use the entertainment as it wasn't our scene but it wasn't the end of the world. People did say it was very good.

There were queues the first week but once the people who seem to have moaned constantly went home, the queues went and our second week was more enjoyable.

When it rained there wasn't much to do. The bus service was good and cheap so we would jump on the bus and go out and about.

Yes I would visit here again because I felt the resort to be very clean and safe. The resort was being cleaned constantly. The toilets were pretty clean but when the water went off they did get blocked. There were usually 3 toilets per block but the cleaners used to keep one closed for staorage and their fag breaks, which was a little annoying when you had to queue for one.

There were house nartins(I think) in the hotel but I never saw any mess from them and they were a pleasure to watch and they never came near you.

We didn't use the entertainment as it wasn't our thing. The kids went into the disco run by the FC reps a few times and liked it. There were lots of peacocks to entertain and a resident pelican which also kept people amused.

The beach we found to be good. The seaweed did come in when it had rained but it didn't put the kids off. They enjoyed the wildlife in the sea, lots of little hermit crabs and harmless jellyfish.

Some of the sun beds were broken but again not the end of the world, new ones seemed to be coming in and I'm sure the new ones from the new hotel will be working their way down PDQ.

In all it was a nice resort that was a little out of the way but it was easy to get around on the busses or by taxi. It was clean and I felt very safe. Yes I would go back. For the money I thought I got good value.

We thought the holiday village was fine, people cleaning all the time.Clean towels every day,and clean sheets if they needed to be changed. The food was ok always hot,and you did'nt have to queue for a long time like some other people have said. The hotel was located in the middle of nowhere, but it did'nt bother us because a taxi to sunny beach only costs about

OMG Holiday from Hell!!!! Things just went from bad to worse....1st double booked our seats had to sit on separate rows from my kids...One is disabled 2nd was told transfer time was 90 min was in fact 3 hours 10 min.

got to room and the smell of sewage was so bad in our room it made us heave went straight back to request a new room and was greated by gasapo type recepion staff to go away and see rep next day. Next day had to go back at 5pm to see if we could be moved and told not possible only when got very angry did they move us.

Next room was nice only thing was it was next to linen store and staff room and was woken up at 6am most morning by maid arguing.Food was appaling always cold whole party had food poising.

Was mugged in sunny beach(no falt of resort or 1st choice spent one day in police station filling in reports arrived home 1st july and the police report still had not turned up!!!! My son was so poorly did not leave the room for 3 days as its no fun climbing 97 steps with someone with food poising.went to food hall one day to get salad and toast 4 dinner and was told by staff i was not allowed to take plate out of hall. i explained that my son was ill due to food poisning and i was going to take my plate to my room and i assured them that i would not steal the plate. they called security and manager....Over a plate!!!

also they are replacing fridges on resort so we had a family of 38 fridges dumped outside our room...quite dangerous. My 9 year old daughter went up to the room to get somthing and then was going to play with a friend she made was due back to me in one hour..when she did not turn up i went to look for her and she was locked in the bathroom as the handle had fell off and was very upset.

The middle pools filter was broken and you could not see the bottom some children had skin rashes and were poorly...Ihave to say the last 2 days the food improved in the way it was hotter saw the staff probing the food( this was after we complained but also due to 1 st choice sending people out to inspect the place...there were so many more insidents to list...

i do have to say that the cleaning staff and animation team were exelent...I do feel very sorry for the 1st choice reps as they had hords of people complaining we 2 were relocated from another resort and the last moment and felt we had no choice as the kids were very exited. One the last day a bird flew over our table (inside the dinning room) and pooed all over my toast summed up the whole holiday!!! I have a list of 20 families who all want compansation all were very disapointed when you save all year to take your family away and find yourself in hell!

People in royal park recived 50% ofr there holiday back and granted not all the rooms were finished however the rooms we visited were better than ours and we sneaked into royal park to eat breakie on day and was far far better than the elnite more selection no birds flying around and no flys over the food.

Was also told by a rep that 1st choice were going to withdraw people for a few weeks untill things improved i asked my rep about this one week before we left and she said it was not true so i asked for a letter from them stating this and guess what they did not do one but baddgered me who had told us....why were they bothered if it was not true

All inclusive! - Food was like "mums been to Iceland".
A bar that closes at 10pm, and you couldnt even get a glass of water or cup of tea after midnight - mad.
Our maid was excellent. Clean towells and bedding regularly - and very friendly.
Location was fine. Cab from outside your door, busstop just down the road. It was great to be away from the hustle and bustle of things.
The staff - oh my god. I didnt think people that rude existed, they even argued with our Rep when she asked if we could pay to keep our room till the evening (we had an 8pm pick up).
Entertainment - a bunch of teenagers playing music with un-printable lyrics! We had to ask one of the Reps to change the music 3 times. At least Thomsons got a Health and Safety team in to test food and repair lights etc. The place is an accident waiting to happen.
Would i go back - you have got to be joking!

The Elenite Holiday Village...Where to start?

Like most holiday resorts, it will appeal to some people but not others, and in my personal opinion most people will not enjoy the experience.

I travelled with a number of family members ranging from 4 to 45 years old, me being 21. Our views differed, and those under 10 and over 65 would probably enjoy it, but there was little entertainment on both the complex and in the town for anyone. I personally found it boring, with everything closing by 11pm, and being a night-time person, found myself falling asleep by midnight in extreme states of boredom.

I found that the chalet style apartments were tidy, but at times a little foisty (damp), but the hotel staff and cleaners seemed pleasant and went out of their way to help. Again, this holiday location like many others was plagued by Germans and Russians, but this experience seemed different, in which different cultures mixed well.

The food was average, although there was little variety. Great fans of takeaway and fast-food will probably hate the food, as you will need to show a little imagination and try everything!

The hotel had its own private beach, which wasn
