We arrived in Bulgaria at around 1am in the morning and at first were a bit wary of the place due to reports read on the internet, but as we arrived at this hotel we were pleasantly surprised!!! IT WAS A PALACE!!!
The hotel reception was luxurious large marble pillars beautiful decoration and it was totally spotless. You were shown to your room by smartly dressed porters and the quality of the rooms were equal with the quality of the hotel itself. The rooms had carpeted floors, air conditioning, large balcony and a shower which was just perfect.
We had heard bad reports about going all inclusive in Bulgaria but this hotel had nothing bad about it.
For breakfast there was a large choice of things like bacon, egg, toast - all the things you would expect. This was the same for dinner and tea. There was also a toasty bar and hot dog stall along with a place to get jacket potatoes so you were spoilt for choice really. All of these mentioned were all self service. The hotel also has a fish, pizza and chicken restaurant which you have to book a day in advance for but is still included in the all inclusive feature. I would recommend the pizza one.
The pool is large and very clean with a bar which you can swim up to and sit at while you enjoy a nice cold pint! The surrounding area of the pool is very nice and has numerous activities for the kiddies.
There is an entertainments team within the hotel but are just learning I think but they really do try their best to please you with many different activities to take part in.
The hotel is set back from the front but this is good as it keeps you away from the hustle and bustle of the music of the clubs and pubs.
Sunny beach itself is brilliant there are hundreds of pubs, clubs and restaurants to use. Most of them have very cheap drink like 35p for lager we paid

I think this hotel was good value for money! The rooms were very clean, good size, t.v., shower, couch, hairdryer, balcony, air conditioning everything you would need! the hotel itself was lovely!
The reception area really took me by surprise when I first arrived, actually the whole hotel did really! Not what I was expecting at all! Very nice!
The food in the main restaurant was alright not brilliant but at the same time nothing wrong with it! I prefered the food from the pizza restaurant within the hotel which was included in the price!! But apart from the restaurant in between meal times there was toasties, hot dogs, baked potatoes and ice cream so I was always full up!
The pool area was really nice! You could sit in the pool and have a drink at the bar! Whenever we went out there was always a sun lounger somewhere a lot did have towels on them though but I noticed that as we were leaving there was a sign up saying that if towels were left the staff would remove them! Which sounds like a good idea to me!
I was told there was a gym but I never got round to using it.
The staff were quite friendly and spoke English apart from the maids that cleaned the room they did not talk much English and they were honest as nothing went missing from my room!
The hotel was located in the centre of Sunny Beach, slighty to the right but beach was few minutes walk away as was everything else!
Me and partner and definitely going back next year I loved every minute of it, and we will be staying in the Christantema hotel!! After hearing a few horror stories I think we play it safe were we know what we will be getting!

Very clean and friendly hotel. First week was pretty empty and quiet and then all the kids arrived. Was impressed that staff (including cleaners) spoke English.
Pool area was excellent, did not have to pay for sunbeds although tennis and trampoline were charged.
Food was plentiful and you could have had something different every day, but it was always the same choice.
Bar was great, how much coke vodka do you want with your coke??? Not the other way round!
Checkout was at midday, although we had to pay 60 lev for as room for the day as our flight was at midnight.
ould recommend this hotel and Sunny Beach for a week, anymore and you get really bored with nothing to do in the day.
Casino in hotel if you want to chuck your last levs away before going home.

Food - ate in hotel for first couple of days all three of us ended up with upset tummys. It is really cheap to eat out any way.
Cleanliness - extremely good although we liked to have a lie in the cleaners were round soon after 10.00am. They even removed half a dead mouse from balcony - we were on ground floor!!
Location - Brilliant no noisy bars close by, main road at back of hotel but thats just like being at home. Lovely pool and bar which is not overlooked by passers by as alot of other hotels are. Nice stroll into resort centre.
Entertainment - None but it was the end of season so we were'nt expecting any.
Visit again - Yes, it is our second visit to this hotel in 4 years and the new part looks fantastic.

On arrival we were very impressed until the porter took us upstairs and through a hole in the wall into the "old part". The carpets were damp and stained and there was a musty smell. On entering the room we were confronted by a single and a double bed, did they really expect 3 adult males to sleep together ? WE took our cases down and slept in reception. We booked hotel Hrizantama a year in advance for a family of 14 only to find out one week in advance that there would be minor building work around the pool area. When we arrived we found that the minor work was actually very major work, there was now a five storey wing being built not a wing being upgraded as we were lead to belive by balkan. The reception area had the most disgusting damp smell as was some of the rooms. We can not comment on the hotels restraunt as it did not exist nor did the entertainment, hairdresser or shop. the rooms were cleaned daily but this did not make up for the noise of the constant drilling, banging and dust. Both adults and childrens feet were cut whilst playing in the pool and we will not be visiting this hotel. again.

On arriving the rooms were basic but clean could have done with a refurb. Then when we walked out onto our balcony we found there was a building site right outside our rooms next to the pool. We were told by Balkan holidays two weeks before we left for our holiday that the work was only interior refurbishment but it was not. The noise of hammering at 7.30am every morning until 7.00pm was terrible. We chose not to sit around the pool because of this so we went to the beach and had to pay more for the sun beds. The pool was ace one of the best ones we have seen, we went in it a couple of times in the evenings when the workmen were winding down.
The cleaners were very hard workers and did a really good job. Our cleaner was very friendly and polite our room was always spotless.
The location of the hotel was good it was central to everything just a five minute walk to beach and the centre of sunny beach. Two minute work out of front gates and your at the bowling alley 5 Lev a game.
The staff could have smiled a bit more especially the pool bar staff. The pool staff were very friendly and always made a point of saying good morning or evening.
Our Balkan holidays Rep Dionis was a very friendly and helpful person he told us lots of things about Sunny beach and Bulgaria.
Entertainment was in the restaurant where we had our meals we did not go to any so can not comment.
The food was alright first week but much of the same second week. We did eat out three or four times though.
We would visit the new part of the hotel as it quite nice as it was nearly finished on the outside when we left. We were told that the new hotel will be all inclusive when it opens.

The Hotel Hrizantema is due for demolition at the end of this season. A new 5 storey building is presently under construction in the grounds of this hotel. Balkan Holidays only notified us of this fact 2 days before we left England. If you stay in this hotel you are in the middle of a building site. There are cranes, concrete mixers, trucks, welders and tradesmen on site.
Before we left England Balkan Holidays promised to move us to another hotel but it took them 2 days to honour this agreement. During that time we had no hot water in our room and the hotel felt very run down although the cleaning staff tried their best.

On arriving at the hotel at 0130 in the morning we were greeted by another couple of customers at the hotel with the words; "just checking in good luck we're checking out tomorrow". When we awoke the next day we realised we were holidaying at nothing more than a building site.
There were none of the amenities that were featured in the brochure.
The restaurant we had to use was at the end of a path outside the hotel which meant after getting dressed for dinner you then got covered in dust attempting to get to the restaurant. Everyday we had to line up with loads of other holidaymakers to see the rep to complain. 2 of our kids cut their feet and hands in the swimming pool the food in the restaurant was bearable but there

This was our first time to Bulgaria and I was very impressed.
The hotel was very clean and the food was good even though it was the same every night.
The location is a forested background: the building work had not started then.
The staff were helpful but were not very sociable.
I would visit again when the new wing is finished.
