Having visited this hotel a number of times over the years, it still remains a firm favourite with my family. The staff are some of the best I have ever come across, and the hotel, while a little dated now, remains excellent. Like most Bulgarian hotels, the food is less than perfect, but there is always something worth having. the Indian is excellent, too.

It is the noisiest hotel i have ever stayed at. The food was basic with little choice, vegetarians beware. Most of the guests eventually stopped using the restaurant except for breakfast. Food of excellent quality is available in the town very cheaply. The bars are good but furnishing has seen better days. Most of the kids are allowed to run riot by their parents as they use the 24-hour drinking facilities to the full. The really annoying thing about the hotel is that it is not called the Sever-Yug it has been re-named the POLYUSI. Try looking that one up and be prepared for a blast of hostility. One further warning, check out if a festival is due - 6 groups of irish dancers practising Riverdance all night is a real pain in the arse!
