This is Bulgaria, a different country with a different culture. The hotel staff are not rude, if you say hello to them they will say hello back, Basic manners. It works both ways. On numerous occasions i got free drinks from the bar even after 11.
If you are nice to them they will be nice to you. It doesn't help when your on holiday surronded by people moaning. Make the most of it. 5 of us went. 4 Adults and 1 child. The entertainment is superb. There is always something on expect on a Wednesday when it is the staffs day off.
The entertainment for the kids is out of the world. The kids will LOVE it. The kids club starts from 10am til 1pm then 3pm til 6pm. You have to sign your child in and the child cannot leave until someone from the staying party signs them out.
Yes there is a problem with the sunbeds. But the early bird catches the worm. It says leaving towels on sunbeds is forbidden. But no one takes any notice and it is no use complaining becuase there is nothing the staff can do. This is down to the guests themselves.
With regards to the food, it is edible, there is always something for someone. I am a fussy eater but i tried everything at least once. This is the only way you will know if you like something. This hotel has to cater for other people not just the brits hence the way the food is the way it is.
The room was cleaned EVERYDAY and clean towels were left. Finnaly the drinks situation. The system for queing up is better than standing at a bar in england and waiting ages for a drink and for the barman to over look you 5 times, at least this way you get your turn!!!
My advice is if you have a problem or a complaint, there are ways to complain. Not shouting the odds. Please and thank you goes along way. If anything i feel sorry for the staff as they have to put up with ranting brits who spoil the holiday for everyone.
This is the first year the hotel is all inclusive, yes the sports bar and the pool bar are franchised but that is set to change when the lease expires at the end of the year. My only complaint would be there was no air con but fans were provided on a night. We had nothing stolen from our room - possibly because we had no problems with the staff. When ever a member of staff saw me they would say hello.
I would go back to Bulgaria tommorow and i WOULD go back to the hotel Pomorie.

Basically you get what you pay for. We paid the same for All Inclusive that we normally pay for a self catering holiday so thought if we have to eat out then so be it. Ok the hotel isn't the best but contrary to
what a lot of the other reviews said my experience was a lot better.
Our room was cleaned regularly and our maid was lovely - always leavinglittle presents for my daughter and keeping the bathroom spotless. Wehad a family suite at the back of the hotel which was lovely and quiet
at night. I know a lot of people were complaining that they couldn'tget any sleep at the the front of the hotel - so put a request in before
you travel for a room at the back. It's lovely there too because youoverlook the pool area.
There was no air conditioning and the rooms do get quite warm but -again why complain when the hotel is advertised with no air conditioning!
The food is ok - it's a bit repetitive but there was a not bad selection - plenty of fresh salad, pasta and different kinds of meat. We ate out
for our evening meals about 7 out of the 14 nights and it wasn't expensive to eat out.
The all inclusive bar in the lobby is a bit of a pain at night as you constantly have to queue and the staff aren't the best but it does the job and you can always but a few drinks from the other bars - they aren't expensive either.
The entertainment "animation" staff were great - especially Lou - the
Geordie rep. He is great fun and my kids loved him. He and the 2 Bulgarian guys with the shaved heads (can't remember their names!) and Deni the Bulgarian girl were fab and put on some good shows at night too
- Look out for the Full Monty! go with an open mind - and remember it's Bulgaria, not England - the
food is different, the culture is different and a holiday is what you make it.
Lastly - Anyone who is reading this and has been to the Pomorie this year - I'm trying to find out the name of the song they always started the entertainment programme with - i think its bulgarian and its a man singing - really dancy sort of song and my son loved it - would love to be able to get a copy or download it... help please!!!!

As for the food forget eating in this hotel, this was our 7th visit to Bulgaria so we know what to expect food wise but this hotel is the worst we have come across.
There is only 1 all-inclusive bar in the hotel and don't be surprised if you spend half your holiday time waiting to be severed and don't dare ask for ice, ice is kept under the counter for locals only.

The location was excellent we couldn't ask for any better we were right in the central location not far to walk.
Staff were ok, there was no entertainment in our hotel but we knew that before we went and we were out every night, I would recommend this hotel to anyone going.

Our room was in the front of hotel facing street, the room was basic but clean, the room was cleaned daily by freindly staff.
The hotel itself is also very clean, the reception staff could be happier, but hey that"s their problem! don"t make it yours and let it effect your holiday!
I cannot comment on the food as we never made it to breakfast once, we enjoy the nightlife so getting up after about five hours sleep is not an option! But having spoken to other guests they say the food is fine, besides eating out is very cheap.
The hotel location is very good, a short walk to the beach, and many resturants and bars on your doorstep, there is no entertainment in hotel, but there is entertainment all around you.
Go out and have a meal at one of hundreds of restaurants, and have a relaxing night in the many bars to choose from.
I would visit this hotel again, but have just bought a villa in the village of kamenar just down the coast, so will be using that for future Bulgarian holidays.

Noticed happy hour was from 3pm till midnight, 2 levs worked out to be 35p a pint (bargain).
Hotel food was ok, but I'm not very adventurous, so I stuck to egg sarnies and toast.
Hotels very clean, the cleaners are there every morning, cleaning, tidying rooms.
Location is ok, could see the sea, but not the beach due to the sand dunes and trees.
Bar staff very friendly and polite, always smiling.
Theres no entertainment in the actual hotel, theres a singer in the ocean bar next door, buts theres at least 5 or 6 bars in the Pomorie.
Would definitley go back to the Pomorie, as the Bulgarians make you feel welcome.

Hotel amongst the cleanest I have visited (France, Spain Usa and Holland ).
Staff very friendly bar staff were fantasic. Breakfast was as said before in other reviews not that great but when you consider how much it costs to eat out in s/beach it doesnt realy matter.
I must admit every time I paid for my meals I left a large tip because I felt guilty paying as little as I did for our meals which incidently I never had a bad one yet and we ate in lots of diffrent places.
The ocean bar net to the pomorie is very good and I highly recommend their chicken on a scewer.
The staff are great especially the chap out side who tries to get you in. Location of the pomorie is ok a short walk from the main hub but far enough away for a bit of a rest from the hustle and bustle.
Have herd lots of reports about the lazur night club across the road from the hotel but must admit I never herd it the 2 weeks I was there.
Pool area was nice and clean and well stocked pool bar. Never used pool that much as the beach is just 2 mins away.
Also across from the hotel are a mix of bars and shops.
Bargins are to be had with fake designer gear at around

Upon arrival at Pomorie (3.00 am) I did wonder what we had let ourselves in for. Yes the music was loud to say the least. However we had a family room (two rooms and two balcanies) so we tried to sleep. We didn't get any sleep the first night but after that we soon got used to the noise and we all had a good nights sleep, so stick with it for the first night.
The rooms were spotless, cleaned everyday etc. The family rooms come with TV and a free fridge. The only down side is that the kids (one of whom I paid full price for as outside of kids rates) had to share a sofa bed which was very uncomfortable so be warned. All that said we made the best of it, after all you can always have a sleep by the pool during the day which we all did.
Yes, you do have to pay for the sunbeds by the pool but what is to stop you going out and buying a lilo (at 8 leve approx
