Just returned from a week at the Riu Palace Aruba.
Check in was very swift as they had set up a special fast track check-in. Went to our Junior Suite on the 7th floor in the left side building, and was very impressed by the size and amenities of the room. large king size bed, sitting area, mini bar with litre bottle optics, whiskey, brandy, Vodka & Gin.
Bathroom with double hand basins and hydro bath/shower. All spotlessly clean and the very pleasant staff kept it that way. Although none of the usual Carribean towel art, more like a business hotel in that way.
Food in all restaurants fantastic, buffet restaurant quick and easy with great choice.
Located on the smallish but lovely beach, the fight for the shaded areas started very early in the morning with the usual 6.30am towel placement to reserve the sunbed position for people that then turned up at about 10 o'clock. This should be stopped.
Entertainment limited and low key.

Food fantastic, never seen as much variety of food in a hotel before. Hotel cleanliness 5*, room cleaned to a very high standard, location of hotel is in the high rise section of the resort, I believe this is the better end to stay in. Staff very friendly and helpful. Entertainment average. All in all this hotel is 5* as stated.
