We chose to marry here and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We travelled with our two year old and thankfully there were only a handful of other children at the hotel. If you like to have a child friendly hotel which is not over run by children, or just go as couple the hotel is great for both.
If you ask any of the staff if they like working there they always reply 'of course, it's the best hotel in Varedero' The gardeners are always happy to pull down a fresh coconut for you to drink.
The food was varied so you could have anything from fruit and yogurt for breakfast to American pancakes.
The security is good although unnoticed so you don't need to walk around with a plastic 'all inclusive' band attached to you.
In the evening there are plenty of choices for everyone too.
Just a wonderful hotel, beach and country to visit.

Cleanliness generally good.
food was good and selection vast but not always hot,and not all was covered.Restaurants of which there were four were hard to to get booked into so the buffet was usually very busy and rather disorganised.
Location of hotel is out of the main resort but sits on a fantastic beach.
All the staff were very very friendly.
Entertainment although good was always of the same format, rather repetitive.
Would recomend it but think it is slightlt rated too high

VERY beautiful Hotel. It is huge... plenty of room to roam the grounds, and plenty of space on the beach. It stretches far along the resort and the sand is so white. The water so turquoise!
The staff are attentive and the maids were very friendly. Some of them do not speak English but will try to understand what your wishes are. Food is ok. Lots to choose from, but I stuck to pasta and rice and fruit. Very clean as well.
Loved the location... close to town but still far enough to feel away from the hussle and bussle of the town. Would definitely go again.

My partner and I Travelled to Paradisus Varadero in Feb 06.
We found the hotel to be in an excellent location, the beach is gorgeous and very spacious, there's a beach grill too which serves nice food for lunch time snacks.
We didn't find the food to be what we expected, the food on many occasions was not cooked properly, they were serving up chicken from the grills in the buffet restaurant very under cooked and slimy! Even when you took the food back and asked for it to be cooked longer they didn't seem to care. ( be warned be careful with the grill).
The entertainment is not great, They all seemed to be very loud theatre productions, half not in English.
We found the staff to be very friendly but they do expect to be tipped!
We did a day trip to Havana from the hotel which was great, something not to be missed.
Over all I found the hotels location and beach/pools to be faultless but I do think the hotel could do with better service and food in there restaurants.
Perphaps the star rating should be lower.

Hotel, fantastic value for what you receive. Compared to many others. Beautiful grounds, great swimming pool lovely rooms. Beach restaurant was our favourite for Red snapper, sea bass etc.
Every restaurant you could have Lobster, prawns, smoked Salmon, champagne all included. We experienced Hurricane Denis when we were there and the Hotel was Sound, staff fantastic and we were well looked after.
Food in Al a Carte restaurants not as great as Barbados, Antigua etc, but still good. Beach lovely but still not as good as Antigua. Would recommend it as the best in Varadero.
